An Idea would be to transfer the serial to a diff account for a fee of course. Stardock makes money on it. and they are still supporting the Serial number / license that was purchased originally. To make it legit both users would have to agree to the switcch so you don't have people stealing your license.

Would you guys prefer a streaming video or a downloadable link? Also, your stuff may be turning off because the viewports were muted accidentally. It's common with people that are new to xsi. They press something funny and it does it. at the top left of the viewport you'll see an A, B, C, or D in a circle. click on that and uncheck anything that may be checked. Worth a try.
Quoting tristangoodes, reply 20 question though MajorStress, Why do you find max is less unforgiving than XSI? I'm just curious. Because i cant do simple tasks like selecting individual tri's without having to fight with the UI in XSI. Even lasso select doesnt work that well. Trying to edit a mesh for me in XSI is a major fight. I dont have these problems in max which is why i am sticking with max for modeling.
</p

well, Max is expensive for starts, When sins was in production, we switched to xsi because A. It was cheaper. B. It's a faster modeling package. C. All the artists on the game were most comfortable in it. The reason I like xsi is because it feels like you're sculpting. If you guys want me to model something, post a picture and I'll do it, but I won't be talking. All that I will do is record my keyboard again and just model away.</p

Not sure what you'd learn by watching me make a ship. The ship I'm working on is under NDA so I can't record it. Sorry

For transparency, you'll need to rewrite the ship shader so that it'll see a channel as transparency. It will though negate a channel currently in use and you'd have to redo every texture in the game. Using billboard particles is an option though. However, realise it's render heavy.

just made up a tutorial of me working if you guys want to check it out. It's nothing fancy and wasn't scripted. You'll probably notice me saying Umm a whole lot. Trying to think fo what to show. Hope this helps, if you guys have any questions, ask away. I'll answer and maybe post some more tut's The link is http://tristangoodes.com/xsitutorial/xsitutorial.html

The particles use a different shader to the ships. It's why it allows transparency. you would need to write a new ship shader that uses another texture. Right now on all the textures, every chanel is being use (RGBA) Alpha has different uses in our game. So that being said. The first place to start is writing a new ship shader.

Since the game has been released, how many free patches have been released. I believe over a gig's worth of content has already been made available and all free of charge. These expansions are a result of what most can assume is Ironclad sitting down trying to think of ways to make the game better. There is no conspiracy here guys...

This relates to piracy because it's the reason you can't resell. People buy the game, copy is and return it. 50 000 is not a lot of people, and it's why I used such a low number... We're trying to compare something to something else which is totally unrelated, and there are people here that are finding holes in everything. I know it's not a perfect annalogy. I for one don't care if you find a hole in my examples, due to the fact it's just an example and we'll never find a simi

Let us all look at the root issue here, why is the issue of not refunding a game even present? I mean, with consol games you're allowed to resell them right? so maybe the finger shouldn't be pointing at the software companies, but to the consumer who for some reason, everyone thinks is innocent. The large majority of the gaming public has at least pirated one game n their lives, and there is a large amount of people who do it without a care in the world. Don't blame the dev

You guys are all missing the point, the reason we buy games is for an experience, you're not paying for a CD (which is physical. Must like any other experience, say a vacation or a season pass to a ski mountain, you shouldn't be able to experience all it has to offer, then give it to someone else to experience the same things. The person who is missing out on money and incurring the fact they're basically giving somebody free access to their property is the owner of the experien
