This is still my first game, basically meaning that I am still learning how to play the game. However, by the time I realised that the pirate base may be a problem, the thing has over 200 ships surrounding it! I never had a problem since I am still playing against easy AI and it is very easy to outbid it, but if that bid on me keeps getting higher and i don't get rid of it, its going to hurt a lot. What do I do about the pirate Base? Can I wait until I get the Novalith C

I really like the idea of this mod, and as soon as i get the hang of the game without it, I am definitely going to download it. Also, can't wait for the walk threw on creating a planet. Would love to try and make one myself :) Since you said you wanted ideas for a mod, I was thinking it would be cool to add moons and use them to give bonuses to the planet and the overall empire (I hope this isn't in already, I would feel very embarrassed...). You could get a mid level tier r

Reply to Choke Point in Strategy

I guess I will have to try and force them back and find a choke point (luckily I'm still playing against easy AI go get the hang of the game, so it shouldn't be too hard) :) Thanks for the replies

How do you defend a planet with 5+ phase lanes towards it? I've only played one or two games (both on easy) but it seems as if you get stuck on a planet like the one mentioned above as a chokepoint it is going to be hard to defend, especially early in the game. I know hangars would help, since they auto-cast fighters/bombers, but what else can you do? Thanks for any constructive feedback!

When I tried to play a game, all the planets turned into icons, as well as the ships and structures. I also could not see the gravity well or anything else. Is it just that the video card could not handle the game, or is there another problem? Also, on my other computer, the planets are slightly see-through, like I can see the stars and such straight through them. what can i do to make them solid?

Diplomacy - Would it be more logical to have a system where you start out with something like a 25% approval rating or so with the AI, and originally start with small missions like - Give X resources to us/team... - with only a small decrease in friendship if you do not complete the missions. When you get past, say, 50%, the missions get harder and you lose more friendship, and once past 75%, well, lets say thats when the - Kill X ships/structures of enemy - diplomacy comes in. This would get ri

I think it would take away a lot from the game if you make the PJI completely lock down all travel where it is built. All you would need to do is build a couple at some choke point planets and nothing would ever happen. Increase their effectiveness, but not to that degree. would someone read my post "On the Edge..." It has some stuff on siege frigates and diplomacy...

I know that before i have said that I am going to buy this game, but a couple of issues on the forums make me bounce back and forth repeatedly whether to get the game or not. My concern is that of the diplomacy in the game. I keep on hearing that when you first meet the AI, your friendship with them is 0, or very low, so if you don't appease them, you go to war. It seems a little strange. Is this true, or just an over reaction by "newer" players(no offense ment to you beginners, we a

First, I would definetely say that these problems are not a reason to quit playing the game. Try playing against some players on ICO, who know how to deal with those kinds of things. That stuff will not work on them. Second, it sounds like what a lot of people who post on this issue say is that(correct me if I am wrong) the siege frigates just fly right past the defenses, quickly destroy a planet, then leave. Maybe by slowing down their speed, weakening shields, or decreasing maneuve

Too bad that the CE has 15 dollars shipping and handling cost. The game would be totally worth the extra 15, but since I'm not paying, looks like I am stuck with the regular edition (:(

Is there anyway to get the Collector's Edition in a store anywhere? Like, if you do not want to pay the $15 dollars shipping and handling, can you still get it somewhere? I (think) I heard somewhere that it would be at somewhere called Fry's, but I was wondering if there was anywhere else?

I also thought I saw someone on a forum say that the CE was only going to be available on the website, but I am not complaining if it will be in stores as well :CONGRAT:

As before, I would appreciate the help with a small question that I have. Seeing as my parents don't want to spend the 15 dollars shipping and handling fee to ship the Collectors Edition :SURPRISED: I was wondering if there was going to be anywhere else I could find the hotkey commands and some of the tech tree information out of game, like on this site?

Ok, if the family ever gets around to buying a new computer system (which will be sooner than they think) that sounds like a good option. Anyway, I am going to try and get the game and sit here praying that it will work when I actually get it ;) . Sins ftw!

One, its a desktop. Two, it has a 1.7 Processor and a Intel Corporation NBGV motherboard.

Does anyone here think that an Intel Graphics Driver would work? I know it is old and outdated, but I don't have the money to drop on an expensive new computer or a video driver, and all of the new thousand dollar computers don't even have a 6600 or above, more like a 6150.

First off, I would like to say that I am really looking forward to the release of Sins. It looks like it is going to be an excellent game! However, I just have a few questions about it. One, is their going to be any form of training area, with general information on the game, like there was in GalCivII? Or can players watch multiplayer games and see how the experts play? It would be pretty cool if a new player could be placed on a locked team with two other expert players, and watch
