stupid me...next time i will read better before posting Guess i was to used to the beta 2 version of the inhibitors
I was playing a large game and i noticed...The phase jump inhibitors do not inhibit! yeah scout frigates are immune...but cap ships too???? i placed them at several planets and the enemy jumped in, attacked my gauss platforms and jumped away! The inhibitor was at full everything but it's useless to build them if they don;t work
Hi there! i'm not sure if this has been posted before, if it is you can slap me but i thought this ought to be brought to your attention. I've been playing several single player games now with 6 AI teams. For these matches i set the difficulty for 4 teams on hard and for 2 teams on medium. But all the computer seems to do is sent out scouts, build a few defenses on his home planet and reward bounties! The computer does no colonizing, no fleet building and NO attacking, the
There allready is a repair ship! havn't you guys noticed that putting robot-carriers in your fleet helps repairing ships? the robot-carrier has repair drones on board that wil automatically repair damaged ships...i allways have a couple of robot-carriers in my fleet.
Really bad game performance on a large 2solar and 100planet big custom map. I have an ongoing topic in the beta feedback about this problem(click!) And a savegame of the map that is slow (click!)
in beta 1 i didn;t have that much pirates...so i only had turtle-planets filled with gaus and nothing at the planets behind the beachhead. i did these defenses becouse of all the random pirates...i wanted to focus on conquerring so i filled every planet with defense....since then no pirate has ever set foot on my planets!
Faulty hardware?..hmm...all other games work like a charm; wow, c&c3, supreme commander, fear all work great at max detail. the ram isn't cheap it's 4x Kingston HyperX ddr 2 1GB (ok..i'm a bit of a tweaker) heat isn't a problem either, my case is open for a few days since i'm measuring in a liquid cooling system <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 align=
Ok, update: Just rebooted into windows XP x64, updated display drivers and activated/started the game. The performance of the save game is (if possible) even WORSE than in vista! it goes at a rate of 1 frame per second (or something like that) So i guess it's not the fault of my drivers...OR os
i have a dualboot (windows XP x64 on another partition)...going to try this now...will report back
Ok Here's my driver version: Driver Version: 7.15.0011.5824 (English)
ok, here's my savegame (unpacked = 110MB) RARed Savegame (4MB)
what works for me is to use up all your defence slots with gauss defence and 2 hangar defence with bombers. the only thing i'd like is to be able to set target priority's. For example...i'd like to give my planet defence a priority on pillagers (if i don't designate it manually they attack them when the other ships are gone)
I will zip the save game tonight (at work atm) and put it on my webserver so you can d/l the savegame (it's 108MB big )
ok, after reboot the game performance remains dreadfull. My PC is more than addaquate to run the game on high detail (as i;m doing atm) but it's like the game can't handle so many planets with so much defensive structures (about 12 turrets per planet) Update: After testing some stuff i noticed something; when i zoom in to my main attack fleet and have no planets or anything on the background everything goes smooth. When i change the angle so that i can se
Hehe...yes i did restart the machine, this game is my savegame with a game-time of about 10 hours (yeah i'm slow ) all of my drivers are up to date...i checked that...going to try a reboot again see if it helps (i'll keep you posted!)
Hi all. I'm playing a game which is annoying me! i'm allmost at the point of conquerring 1 entire solar system but everytime i zoom in or out or want to build something (or rather...everytime i perform an action) the game hangs for 1 or 2 seconds and then goes on. It's driving me nuts! my system specs: - Intel Core2Duo 2.4Ghz - 4GB Ram - 1TB disk space - Geforce 8800 GTX - Windows Vista 32Bits Game details: - Custom Galaxy
what i noticed is: when you build a shield generator and activate it...the dish points out the other way (away from the planet)
and...to make the game more realistic (and confusing) don;t place the planets all in 1 line! but on different levels...it would be the ultimate game then
is the slot option also being tweaked in the next patch? e.g.: so that you can build a trade port AND a research station AND a refinery? (4 slots is just not enough! )
these are great ideas! it would make the game MUCH more realistic and adds some tactical advantage gre8 idea's, im with you for 100%
i still think the resources need some tweaking too...i'm waiting for hours to mine a few crystal roids and am unable to build tradeports since my slots are full (by building just 1 research lab) (give us more slots plx! )
my 2 cents (dunno if it's mentioned before) when you look for resources you mostly find metal roids...3m,1c....can it be balanced more? It takes too long to gather resources when you only have a few crystal roids and a lot of metal roids. And then the logistic slots...after upgrading you can't build more structures since your trade port takes up everything (or i havn't played long enough
It should be difficult to successfully invade another solar system. Consider the logistics of such a feat! It's staggering - death on a systemwide scale. By the time a player looks to invade another solar system, they should have dominion over their own and be able to churn out a massive advance force to clear out any opposition at the new star. Then have a backup fleet in reserve to secure their forward position while the main fleet captures a plan
i allways set up my defenses at the exit points and around the planet what i'd really like is that you are able to create more "jump-lanes" for known planets under your control. like so: i want to go from planet A to D but have to go to B and then C first. When i develop my own jump-lanes i could jump from A to D directly (would also be more difficult to defend in case of enemy intrusion...FUN! )
