Just about to start playing around with the modding aspect of the game, and was going to start by adding some more planetary bonuses. Got an idea for a bonus you'd like to see? Post it here. Also, I (like a few people) were disappointed with the lack of bonuses received from exploration. I don't think you can adjust the percentage of getting a bonus, I believe that can be altered when making a map (correct me if I'm wrong). However, I've come across a value that should force a bonus on

Thats good to hear Bink. Just popped in on that link that sh00ter posted, looks like they plan to release a 'finished' version, but no solid ETA as of yet.
Or, if its that much of a problem and the planet is more trouble than its worth, abandon it and leave it for another Empire to take, let the Pirate buffer fall into his territory. Problem for you solved, and a problem gained for the AI.
Give him a break... and answer his question, or move on. I was also under the impression that more tools were on the way to simplify this process and allow a lot more 'easy' modding to be done.
You can abandon them yes, but the AI never does. And is there an advantage in doing it? Resources or anything?
i myslef would always go the boming option but thats just me.
I'm with you. In fact, I was hoping for some more evil ways to wipe a planet clean, biological and chemical weapons anyone? Research the vaccine and then the virus and fill the atmosphere with it. Land your troops/civi's on the Planet and set up shop. Space Empires V had a similar thing, using 'Plagues'. Level 1-5 I believe, and same with the vaccine. Especially goo
My friend had a 30k bounty on him in a game against AI, they weren't that big a problem to deal with.
After hours on a map with 6 or so systems, and 2 of the 3 AI vanquished, a bidding war broke out escalating to just under 500K. I didn't notice a huge amount of difference in the raiding parties, and having destroyed 1 of the 2 pirates bases in the 'Pirate System', I descended upon the remaining base expecting the usual defences. Much to my surprise the Pirat
Its good to spam them on the planets that have a Bonus % for Trade Income too. I think Pure Ice Glaciers are the best I've seen, 30%. But any bonus is good, especially when its a Desert planet, thats a huge amount of trade :D
Damn, beaten too it. Ah well... I wonder if we'll ever find out how to earn it.... or has someone done that too? ;)
Just to clarify, I did not, nor know how to, earn this Achievement. Its just a pic for you people who wonder what it looks like. I apologise if this has been posted before.
Thats good to hear jpkylegirl, I just starting verifying my account with PAyPal, and then I realised that I had to wait 3-5 days for the next step :O Godspeed on the upload, there's a lot of eager people out there, and I'm one of them ;)
Thats a question id like to know as well. Basicly i dont own a credit card (if i dont own one i cant get into debt... worked so far, im the only 22 year old i know who isnt in debt in my area) so if i want to order something online i either use paypal or my dads mastercard. Point being though that if i can just wait till its released for download and paypal it then i dont need to bother my dad to let me use his card. So once the Pre Order pe
I'm going to have a bit of faith here, and say: 7:37pm 7 sec's GMT.
Can't believe you've got working models and the games isn't released yet. Amazing work, and I'll probably sign up to help (my skills are limited, but I always seem to learn as I go when I've modded other games for myself). Although it will probably be a week or two until I sign up, as I'll need a good play on the game, and get familiar with the files. Keep up the good work, Warlords was the best mod I've seen/played so far for any game, the sheer number of ships in it was phenomenal.
LOL @ lordkosc, Family Guy ftw! And thats Great news Frogboy. Hope it pays off ;)
I feel bad for all you peeps with a slow speed. I didn't realise so many had Dial Up still. I think we've got 8 meg BB, and on a good day can get 800kb/s, so only 20 minutes for me ;) Like other people have said, it might be worth upgrading to the Digital Download AND Box now. I see you live in the US, so delivery time shouldn't be too bad, and the extra shipping cost won't be as much as if you were in Europe or anywhere else in the world. Edit: Lol, just realised that Eet was
Right... err... I don't know how to put this... 28 / 10 = 2.8 so... 10hrs X 10 = 100 hours 100hrs = About 4 days 2 hours or something. Hope you ordered the Box as well, as it might arrive before you get the download. Godspeed son, your going to need it.
im using a 28.8 kbps dial up connection, about how long will the download take?
Seriously? Err.. quite a while. Might be a good idea to get a torrent of it, in case the internet d/c's or crashes. Unless Stardock Central supports a stop and start download function. Edit: If you keep up a rate of 28kb/s, then about 10 hours, give or take.
Wait... the USA doesn't rule the whole world?
LOL! I wonder what the %'s are of pre-orders across the Globe per nationality. Could a dev answer this?
At a guess, there is some arcane and mysterious process to putting the game up for download, and they don't know how long its going to take. *cough*
All you needed to say ;)
The devs have assured us they have the infrastructure in place to handle it
I don't want to sound like I have lack of faith, but every download on release day I have seen, slows down. Even getting the serial checked out for Bioshock took nearly an hour! :O Expect the worst,
Did you guys know that the Superbowl is completely irrelevant to the majority of people? I'd rather have it on a Friday...
Amen to that. Its funny how all the yanks here thought we were all talking about the 'states when you said the "majority of people". We live on a Planet,
My mistake. Perhaps they should adjust or add that to the Pre-order page.
You get a "digital copy" of the CD with the digital download only version.
Of the Music CD? Something tells me I doubt that. I thought the whole idea of getting the CE was to get the music and extras.
The Collector's Edition box includes the following bonus items: a foldout tech-tree poster, artwork posters, a hotkey card, and a music CD.
To the OP, which no-one seems to have address
Do we have a definitive time then? Days before release I'd have thought we could know an exact time.
