Hi. I'm wondering if there is any way to demand resources from other player/AI controlled guys. I read the manual, went thorugh tutorial, searched forums and found nothing. it would be kinda weird if all we can do is 'give' metal, money, or chrystals. so is there a way to demand those things from teh AI or other players? thanks
When playing empire at war I always enjoyed the 'strategic map' the most in that game, but it was so bare bones and I wished it was more developed. Well I had high hopes for this game and thus preordered a couple of weeks ago and got to play it yesterday for a good amount of time. well i'm glad to report that this is everything i hoped it would be. To all those people who felt the same way about 'empire at war' as i did and are looking into this game right now, I can only recommend it to
campaign would be nice i guess. but i don't miss it one iota. galciv2, civ4 etc may have some small campaign type modes (i don't even remember) but i never tried em anway. i always go with the random world mode.
I agree that the system should stay the way it is right now. Makes sense and adds strategic depth.
I also do not agree with the OP. Without trying to flame anyone, but as most have stated you apparently had the wrong expectations. I clearly prefer 4X games over the likes of starcraft/C&C type RTSs. Sometimes 4X does get boring so I really like the mix b/w the two genres that this game offers. I will continue to prefer stuff like GalCiv2 and the Paradox games, but when i want intelligent fast paced action ( :P ) i'll play this game.
While my opinion is based on a mere 4 hours of play (thus subject to change once i understand the intricacies more), I do admit that the only thing that i really disliked so far in this game are the constant pirate attacks. while i like the general idea, just the constant barage of attacks every 10-15 minutes is quite annoying and if there was an option for it i'd definately take advantage of that quite frequently until i get the hang of this game in more detail.
i've played a whole lot of games starting in 1992 and i honestly can't remember a single game off the top of my head that had/has 'battle chatter', please list some because apparently i've missed out over the years (hmmm maybe wing commander/freelancer type games had it, but definately not enough to expect them in any game)
well so i finally broke. after staring at the screenshots the past months and reading the forums here i've just decided to preorder. most of the comments seem to be rather positive so i hope i won't regret it (sure i won't). anyway just wanted to mention that. so the wait continues now...
awesome, thanks for the feedback. i'm counting down the days towards release
hi guys, i'm just wondering if this game will feature (or even exclusively be based on) random maps/or customly created maps as in other 4X games. i.e. in the beginning you select the size of the galaxy, how many planets, numbers of enemies etc. Or will it be strictly mission based with a coherent single player story like in other RTSs like starcraft or warhammer40k. thanks for any comments.
