Either as AdmiralSol says: give it an actual shield equal to the real hp of the planet, or make the planet immune to bombardment until the generator is destroyed. The generator's hp would probably need to be buffed in that case and maybe given a shield of its own.

This is a really good mod and adds a lot to the length and depth of the game, I find however that the AI doesn't seem to utilize all the extra research levels. My tactic vs the AI (I fight 5-6 hard or unfair AI's) is to turtle up and build my economy and then go on the offensive in the late game, at this point I have such superior research levels that I just trample over the AI who seems to have barely researched at all (even with the researcher personality). Thanks for updating this mod, it's really good! Only thing that irks me is the really high shield opacity when something is taking alot of hits, say a starbase or a Radiance with animosity activated. Is it possible to set an upper limit to the opacity or is it a strictly linear thing? Shame it's not possible to replace the shield altogether with something more detailed as it would certainly be a nice bit of eye candy for those with capable systems.
An excellent mod that greatly enhances the original game, I tip my hat to you chaps! What shields? *grumbles about barely visible shield meshes* I have noticed that you can't even see the shield meshes in standard black space without a mod, if you read this Ironclad please make them more visible or at least give players an easily accessible option to modify the visibility.
