Serondal: ahh ok i think i understand now. I did play pax for a long time, (esp when someone came out with that super race cheat..hahah). My personal fave is moo2, (ooh yes planet kilers..mmmm) but i cant stand the graphics anymore hahah. BAH! i can hear the soundtrack allready..NOOOO! just on a side note, i think if they combined the complexity of Master of Orion 2 (i didnt like 3 as much but it was still fun)with the nexus graphic engine and physics (i love those thruster effects ins

i own pax imperia and i do not believe in any way shape or form that PI is better than Soase. Comparing the two is not even close to fair. PI was based on animated gif's and sprite technology. NO 3D rendering, no light sources, no bump mapping. Soase beats most of the 4x games with its 3D engine and textures hands down..so how did you come up with this judgment about PI again? when you attacked planets in PI you had ONE perspective, no camera control. Same way with ship to ship
Unreasonable it may be, but some people will sue you over making such remarks, stupid as it is.
Gabal: Seeing things from different points of view should never be viewed as lawsuit material. where are you from? WTH is it with people being so greedy. I object strongly to the concept that people think they can even suggest a lawsuit over someones opinion that doesnt agree with everyone else.. ..wait for it... Ok now flame on or laugh/whatever you

an isp hardblocked ports? thats a little harsh, lol have ya tried to use port foreward say using port 80 on your machine? well i guess you would need to use a router in between you and the modem..heh. that really sounds serious for an isp to make such a move. Grounds for multiple lawsuits, i mean what if you owned an ipod or purchased music online..do they block transfers as well? see something just doesnt make sense. but to truly answer, theres no way to bypass an isp's fire

Hey pirate, ball already stated up in all his OP at the very top all you have to do is remove the GameInfo directory from the mod folder. there is no reason for someone to re release the mod to just get the graphics updates. and now to be helpful, you can copy the mesh and particle folder over into another mod directory but you loose some of the effects. ballknight: this is amazing work, thank you for releasing the mod. i can see where my weekend is going to be spent heheh.

Good lord I haven't seen this much chaos over a mod before. Stop with the votes, what you think this forum is, a place to force people to do your bidding?? I dont see any rule about people voting for mod options, can the vote chatter and save it for the dev's questions about the next patch. Let ballknight make his mod to what he likes, If we like it we will use it and say Thank you. If you don't like the idea of a few code alterations or ship changes, then go make your own particle mod

hey pale, since when did you become the text police? *eye poke* got any suggestions for the OP or not?? And just to be irritating, [link="http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=notta"]WWW Link[/link] so :p

i dont have any issues with this forum. I mean zero, notta. With server errors and loss of posts it sounds like either you have too much data going in/out of your machine (...from something) or you have a nasty spyware beast running amuck. This is a suggestion only, not being a jerk, take some time to run a anti-spyware program, also consider running CClenaer that helps clean up a lot of junk our surfing habbits pick up. www.filehippo.com has a lot of freeware and shareware stuff. <br/

Just my perspective, i have not seen a copy here in Arkansas. (yes yes i have running water, electricity and all such modern things :P ) Im glad SD/IC offered a download verson, I got the game just a few hours after it was released. Many people, including me, refuse to shop at certain retail outlets over here so handing my income directly to the publisher suits me just fine. It feels like the guys who made the game get more of the money they deserve rather than it being pushed through

Iron Lore did not listen to the users, blaming piracy for the lack of good game code is just like a child getting the last cry/fit in just before its grounded. I own TQ, i have a machine thats well beyond the min spec (I can run X3 at 35fps in full combat for petes sake) yet i still had slowdowns and irritations with Titan Quest. I didnt even bother to get the expansion. Too bad they had to leave but maybe the industry will learn a thing or two before running out and releasing garbage

meepzero: there is a way to combine multiple mods, however they cannot change/overwrite the same files. So if you run a graphic mod for planets stars etc, you can combine this particle mod with it, so long as you do not need to overwrite the files. If you do, it might or might not cause a crash. The problem for the moment is we have to use the entire Gameinfo and particle directorys. Graphics and sound do not seem to share this limitation (none that i can see anyhow), but if we could s

guys, they stated quite clearly there is NO steam support. zero, zip, notta. they did not design sins to use the steam overlay. having to run Stardock once in awhile to check for updates/downloads isnt that bad. "There is much more to be gained by selling the product on it, rather than competing with it." Thats silly, kinda like saying Zmart should offer special deals through Qmart just due them being in the same type of business. im not shaking my finger suggesting

i worked on this a bit myself derbal. One of the easiest ways is to change the lines in the ships beam weapon code: beamGlowColor ffffffff beamCoreColor ffffffff These Are ARGB. (alpha, red green blue in sets of two hex numbers. FF=255) so by adjusting it to read ff00ff00 its basically a bright green beam. The other way you can do it is to load up the file TechCapitalBeam_Glow.dds and then use the hue/sat to change its color. then export it as a dds file, 8 bit alpha argb.

*cough* None of ye shall survive...a full session of Master of Orion 3. You want in depth, huge technology trees and all the micromanagement? there ya go. Not great on graphics compared to nowdays but at least you get the full lineup. I just dont have a month for a game session anymore, gotta work n sleep ya know. Gal Civ 2 is another, yes yes space empires V as well...if you can stand the ..sound effects. blah. Sins *for me* seems to focus more on tactics and out thinking/fl

*attacks myrmidos with a pointed stick for thread derailment* dude, it informs you to register your serial with/through stardock in the first few steps after sins installs. RTFM *poke poke..pokes again* Im not being a jerk, just pointing out that should have registered before ya even started up sins. Glad ya found the solution :)

Ya know, i remember some of these flash sticks needing a special driver to transfer data/format etc etc. Just to do one more test, try going into safemode (pressing f8 ten thousand times right after you power on the pc) and see if you can format the stick from that mode. sometimes these things come preloaded with all kinds of stuff, there may be some sort of ..driver or interface software that messes with things. if it were a hard drive id just fdisk the thing and make a new

Im not a tech anymore, (i stopped all my certifications at WIN2K...bah!) so take what i say with a grain of salt. I have not experienced the hangup issue anymore. However i do NOT use the exit/close feature in the game. When its time to quit, I alt tab out and terminate the exe via the task manager in Win XP. Soase does take a LOT of ram, ive seen it peak at 1.7 Gig before, it could be bad memory management from xp however i do not have the tools to properly watch ram locations and suc

Ok im not as educated as i should be on this subject, feel free to flame. 1. Game piracy is about doing something for fun, how many pirate groups make profit at it? I have no clue, but i doubt they make much. Nothing can be gained by pirating games except for free entertainment to a point, you still need to buy the hardware heh. 2. Remember back last year when several of the publishing companys backed by the Riaa and such went after the Digital FM streams? Its still not resolv
