1.05 actually solved my minidump problem and I have had no issues since. None have occured since patching and my minidumps were also occuring with BSOD problems too. All gone with this patch. Not sure what my problem was with 1.04, but everything I did did NOTHING...applying this latest patch, all fixed.
Rootaah
I was having the same exact issue. The reboots "seem" to have gone away once I disabled my onboard Realtek AC 97 sound card. While I never had any problems with ANY game with the onboard sound, my serious error messages with Sins seemed to have revolved around sound files. I went out and bought a Sound Blaster Audigy card and the reboots stopped. Unfortunately the minidumps continue.
I have the same issue. What sound do you have? By chance do you have Realtek AC 97 onboard sound? A lot of my reboot errors were related to sound issues according to the 'blue screen of death' messages. I'm going to putting in a new sound card this week as a final troubleshooting measure to see if it actually makes any difference in my minidumps or reboots.
My Key Specs: Athlon XP 3000+ 2.5GB DDR PC2700 EVGA 256MB GeForce 6800GT Realtek AC 97 Onboard Audio Windows XP PRO SP2 While my system hardware may be dated, it's more than adaquate to play just about any game on the market, with the appropriate downgraded tweaks of course for graphics. I regularly play games like Oblivion, Medieval II, C&C, Supreme Commander, Age of Empires III, NWN2, WOW, and Battlefield 2142. I have NO problems with ANY of them. NO

I agree. A friend and I stopped playing entirely due to the problem. I sent the minidumps into Ironclad for about a week and at this point I'm finished sending anymore. I've updated, downdated, and changed all of my drivers that I could possibly change. Sound, video, ethernet, etc. Claiming that this is a hardware problem doesn't fit at all with my stance. No other game I have causes such problems. This is exactly why broadbased PC gaming is going down the toilet. I don
Very VERY interesting. I can also say that I never noticed the minidumps UNTIL we started playing HARD AI. I'll have to try and prove it again, but I think you are on to something actually...at least for my experiences.
Just following up on my own post. Friend and I made the said changes recommended by the op....still got minidump. The steps in the OPs post about changing the LogOutput made no difference for us.
would love to get other confirmations on this. Friend and I are going to try it shortly or tomorrow. Will reply with our results.
I agree and I have stopped playing MP matches now. Until this is fixed I don't see why I should waste my time or my friends time. I surely hope they can fix this issue. My patience with PC gaming in general is getting thin these days due to this nonsense.
Figured I'd throw this into the mix: I turned off the 'automatic reboot' option in Windows for any crashes to see if I could get some more info on this rebooting issue. Now when I have the problem, I get a BSOD with 'KMIXER.SYS' as the problem file. Again, this ONLY happens when I HOST a game. It'll happen immediately or within 5 minutes of starting the match. If I join a game, I still have the horrid minidumps, but no rebooting problems. I've updated and downgraded sound
Sadly...welcome to the club of "Minidumps" and multiplayer problems. 1.04 (and .022) seems to have seriously hosed a good portion of the networking ability of this game for lots of people. All we can do it seems is wait for the next patch.
I agree with you that it's not the static IP causing the reboots, but I have a hard time believing it's the powersupply. UNLESS, by hosting a game, I'm draining more juice than when I join one? Doesn't make much sense to me. Also, when the machine comes back up, it says the system has recovered from the ever infamous 'serious error'. When I click to see the details, I get the standard Windows message stating that a driver is the problem. Driver??? I have everything updated and I actu
I am having a similar problem. It only occurs though when I host a game. If I host a game, the instant I hit START....my machine reboots. Here's the funny part, if I join a friends game, or another random game, I do not reboot. I will get a minidump within an hour or two, but no rebooting. Again, if I attempt to host a multiplayer game..it reboots when I start the match. I made it once into the game, but within about 10 minutes my PC reboots. This is THE ONLY game I have t
Up until tonight I was never able to host a multiplayer game. Absolutely everything I changed in my router made no difference. If I would host, my friends could not join. I could easily join their games and play for a good bit, maybe 2 hours tops. Unfortunately, on a side note, the dreaded minidump errors would come after a good hour or two for me. In an attempt to fix my hosting issues and possibly see if I could, by some miracle, fix the damning
