The mods sounds very good. The only thing I would like to ask is if you have some idea of when it's going to be fully compatible with 1.04? Not trying to put any pressure, just as a curiosity.

Depends on the size of the game. I'd say it could reload with time, as if the players decide to play a monster game of 10 players at a huge random galaxy with 107 planets it IS going to take a while and it IS going to need more 10 pauses.
You have entered in a crisis of what we can call "the Simpsons have done it before". The genre has some time already, and while not ALL that can be done have been done, it's not really a problem if it's not the first time something appears as long it isn't overused.
If it's not possible to make the players join while the game is still going, it could be a function when loading a game. So if a player crashed to desktop, you could even save, stop, and load the game with the guy back.
I think that the best solution would be to just take planets out of the game. Then the siege frigates wouldn't be overpowered at all, and there would be no reason to spam them. You don't really need planets anyways. They should be replaced with giant scoops of ice cream. If anyone tried to nuke them, then the nukes would go right through! And our population could be made of chocolate chips, and our currency would be mint chips. We could build ships and structure
Well, I'm of the opinion that the more options in the hand of players here, the better. So I'd say the research toggle could get two more speeds in the extremes: Crawling: Research takes a LONG time. Instant: There is no research time, you have the resources and the labs, you can get techs as fast as you click.
So either the stats are broken, or putting bounties on the AIs only get you free of the raid, but pirates wont attack em.
Seems that he was bribing them.
I've been reading this post and wondering if if a few options in the random map generator wouldn't be good. I'd say to be put the following: Enable Pirates Yes/No (If no the other options could would be disabled) Pirate Strength (so it scales by the resources AND this option) Pirate Frequency (so you can choose how frequent pirate attacks should be) Am I missing anything?
