Can no one answer this? I thought this would be an easy one?

I have played a lot successfully online but I still don't use fleets or know why they are helpful so I have some questions: 1) How do you initially create a fleet? (I am assuming a fleet isn't the same as ctrl+#) 2) What is the purpose of a fleet? Is there any bonus other than ship grouping for quick control? 3) Do you need a capital ship to create a fleet? 4) If you have an existing fleet how do you add units or remove units? 5) How do you disband a fleet? 6) Are there any
Migrating fails even if there are multiple potential hosts in the game. It's just bugged, but bug not acknowledged yet so i don't expect a fix in 1.03.
This I would believe because I host 1/2 the games I play so I would imagine I am suitable...yet the error happens. Please acknowledge this bug as it's a terrible end after hours of play.
Twice now a couple of hours into a game, according to the network screen, everyone disconnects at once and it says "migrating" by my name so I assume the game's hosting is moving to my PC 1) I find it hard to believe everyone quit simultaneously. 2) I looks more like I disconnected but I have played a lot and this is twiceonly now. Help? Worst part after 2 hours in, I was totally winning with by far the largest fleet etc and was playing a 1/2 dead guy against my biggest an
I have the same system etc except 2.8 gig....it runs great, even when hosting online games
Yeah thats why i suggesting things that would largely depend on the players...I know devs are busy with upcoming projects and of course all the updates that they do so well. "Official" material is better but at least a good collection of player inspired info would be 1000 times better than now.
It would be great if along with the mods forum there could be a poll for people to vote for their favorite mod out of the top 5 or 6....also maybe a strategy wiki for players to update (so you don't have to worry about it)? These things take almost no effort to implement but would sure be appreciated resources for the many fans of the game........ There is so much that can be done with this game, we need some organization from a neutral point of view (no ulterior motives other than
Omg I can't believe I forgot this..... If you are playing multiplayer and everyone quits...seriously the least you could give up is a win lol. Even if it means the pirate base has to be destroyed to get it. I am SO sick of building for 2 hours then as soon as the action starts....people start quitting.......next thing you are the only one left after 2+ hours and you haven't even fought anyone......
Many good thoughts, so here are a few basic but important ones: 1) AI needs to take over for online players that leave. It's terrible that 1 or 2 quitters can basically make what could have been a good game, unbalanced and a complete waste of time. NOTE: Replacing AI level needs to be defined at game creation. 2) Quitting online should ALWAYS be a "surrender" and a loss. Who cares why they quit or drop, it is a loss. I also really think some further system could be implement
I agree fully that turrets are useless given their limited range. I think increasing it by at least 50% would do it.
EA is evil and treats its customers like crap anyway......
In multi-player there needs to be an unrecoverable point assessed so the loser cant just take 3 ships and hop around the galaxy forever. It a very anti-climactic ending that never ends.
yeah i gave up and ordered online, its ridiculous
You guys are pathetic and have no self control. The worst part is..... I am 36, thought I was done with game addiction and yet my wife hates you because I can't walk away from the game either. The worst part is I am not very good at the game lol. It's still great though. "My name is Chris and I am an addict"
I also got this at over 500kb And what was said before is completely right, .11 kbs on any speed connection is a problem on your end. You need to speak with your provider, not these guys. Call the provider's tech support and they should be able to help you. The only other possibility is that you live in one of those countries that has had problems with infrastructure due to the undersea cables being cut :)
CONGRATULATIONS! And well deserved, just one thing. As you realize more success and grow, please....please.....PLEASE don't forget that your overall love for what you produce and exemplary service afterwards (updates etc) are large factors in your success. EA used to be a good company and now they are horrid (do you know that NHL 08 for PC never got a single update and is still working off the original out of date rosters from months before the season started - mid summer 2007?
no I'm sure I've seen artifacts on small maps
The AI is pretty good. Unfortunately it won't fight you unless it is sure of a victory, so most of your time is spent chasing them in circles around solar systems. They need to change that about the AI.
Totally agreed, The AI is great but it should know the difference between when it has
lol nice work...pirates aren't too tough and honestly if you aren't ready to defend them then you should be winning the bid They really aren't that mean. The AI complaints are simply from people that can't accept a learning curve. I appreciate your hard stance and pllleeaaasssse don't dumb this game down for those who forget that strategy is important. Planet defences are quite effective actually.
I can see this is going to be good and I am looking forward to it and the improvements you know will follow (I just bought the game in the last couple of hours but after galciv I have faith). That being said, the tutorials are really poorly designed, disjointed and frustrating. I won't get turned off by them but I'll bet there will be a lot of people that will get this game by whatever means necessary to test it and become frustrated before they are hooked and subsequently buy it. I t
Yes i love the eye candy but due to some annoyances like this i still prefer galactic civilization..
If you remember way back, there were a lot of problems with that at first too. The key point is stardock is VERY active with updates and improvements....this game will evolve into a great one just like galciv did (it didn't start that way....plenty of annoyances). I think part of the reason it is so great is because stardock's superior interaction with customer
I noticed you even suggest in the download that we backup the files....how?
I meant in the purchase e-mail.....regardless, to make it easier on your support staff in the long run (and safer for us), could you supply more info?
So I broke down, couldn't wait any longer for retail release and bought the digital download. I noticed you even suggest in the download that we backup the files....how? I assume the install files are what we want, not the installed game......where do I find this? Is there an image available? I'm confused
I haven't even played yet but I'm sure it's the same eith every game when newly released..... People always complain it's too hard to start and then a week after it's been out everyone complains it is too easy. Just give it some time so you can get used to it and get good :)
Don't complain, us Aussies/New Zealanders have to wait longer than you guys to get it to RETAIL, in Europe, they won't have it at all.
I understand other countries are worse but the game was made in Canada.........you'd think that would make things better for us........
