The bottom line is that if stardock/ironclad is doing their jobs (which I believe they do very very well), the vocal minority or whatever input only serves as a platform for ideas. Any professional knows you take what input you get but at the end of the day, the best solutions are devised by the governing body using a broader scope of reference. It's the same concept as being a parent. You listen to your kids, you argue, you agree, sometimes you have to ignore.....but the decisions yo

I laughed so hard when I read this, diet coke came out my nose (and I found out that hurts): -Fix for problem where after playing Sins for 100000 seconds (27.7 hours) damage and various other systems wouldn't update correctly. I hope to god that that includes saved games and people didn't find out there was a bug by playing 27.7 hours straight on a regular basis. I can see it happening and I just have to say, if you play that long in one sitting, the crash is doing you

I hope to god all the people asking for a clock are ignored!!!!!! The whole point of a game like this is to lose yourself in it and not think about time, responsibility and all the things that come with it..... For the people who want a clock, put one on your desk or wear a watch but don't impose "reality" on those who enjoy this game as an escape!

lol seriously why do people keep asking for clocks.......put your own clock by the computer or a watch or a cell phone or PC alarm software or buy a damn rooster!

No doubt the AI is the major difference (assuming we are ignoring that they are two very different styles of game). The AI in sins is lame......I realize it's complicated to make AI effective in this model but the facts don't change. Galciv AI is decent, sins AI is terrible. I'm hoping given time and updates this will be vastly improved.

I think a simple helper would be that those images are way over the top, you don't need them. The guide format looks awesome but no guide has multiple large shots of the ingame views....and there really isnt any reason to. Do what you are doing and drop the images and you will have an awesome guide......

On a large map (I'm assuming with lots of room for everyone to expand without fighting), RA isn't as effective. TEC opponents will have many planets and a smoking economy which is also deadly (I would argue more so as fund can become virtually unlimited....RA is limited by your gate timers). Advent I am not a huge fan of but time to build up a overpowering culture might combat RA well.....I can't speak for that side of things but I know it works for those who use it well.

Okay minidumps should be the #1 priority for upcoming updates..... When you put aside a couple of hours to finally sit down and play a game....to have it ruined by a minidump is terrible. It's the only thing that can ruin this game for me, it feels like such a waste. And no, I don't have any mods and have not gone near a modded game.

In 1.02, chat was: 1) simple as your last "mode" was locked as the default starting point for your next conversation....so for instance if you started taliking to allies and didn't change it, every future chat attempt would be to allies without having to make changes. 2) It was nice to see either player name (including color) or allies (which had it's own grey) but every communication target was very obvious whe writing a message through color coding. In 1.03 chat is: <br

I have played a lot successfully online but I still don't use fleets or know why they are helpful so I have some questions: 1) How do you initially create a fleet? (I am assuming a fleet isn't the same as ctrl+#) 2) What is the purpose of a fleet? Is there any bonus other than ship grouping for quick control? 3) Do you need a capital ship to create a fleet? 4) If you have an existing fleet how do you add units or remove units? 5) How do you disband a fleet? 6) Are there any
Migrating fails even if there are multiple potential hosts in the game. It's just bugged, but bug not acknowledged yet so i don't expect a fix in 1.03.
This I would believe because I host 1/2 the games I play so I would imagine I am suitable...yet the error happens. Please acknowledge this bug as it's a terrible end after hours of play.

Twice now a couple of hours into a game, according to the network screen, everyone disconnects at once and it says "migrating" by my name so I assume the game's hosting is moving to my PC 1) I find it hard to believe everyone quit simultaneously. 2) I looks more like I disconnected but I have played a lot and this is twiceonly now. Help? Worst part after 2 hours in, I was totally winning with by far the largest fleet etc and was playing a 1/2 dead guy against my biggest an

Yeah thats why i suggesting things that would largely depend on the players...I know devs are busy with upcoming projects and of course all the updates that they do so well. "Official" material is better but at least a good collection of player inspired info would be 1000 times better than now.

It would be great if along with the mods forum there could be a poll for people to vote for their favorite mod out of the top 5 or 6....also maybe a strategy wiki for players to update (so you don't have to worry about it)? These things take almost no effort to implement but would sure be appreciated resources for the many fans of the game........ There is so much that can be done with this game, we need some organization from a neutral point of view (no ulterior motives other than

Omg I can't believe I forgot this..... If you are playing multiplayer and everyone quits...seriously the least you could give up is a win lol. Even if it means the pirate base has to be destroyed to get it. I am SO sick of building for 2 hours then as soon as the action starts....people start quitting.......next thing you are the only one left after 2+ hours and you haven't even fought anyone......

Many good thoughts, so here are a few basic but important ones: 1) AI needs to take over for online players that leave. It's terrible that 1 or 2 quitters can basically make what could have been a good game, unbalanced and a complete waste of time. NOTE: Replacing AI level needs to be defined at game creation. 2) Quitting online should ALWAYS be a "surrender" and a loss. Who cares why they quit or drop, it is a loss. I also really think some further system could be implement
