well..on the d'load page it says:
Please note save games and replays from prior to 1.05 will not load.
So..I think I'll wait to finish my game before I venture in.
Multiplayer?
Well Taak... The post I was responding too (see quote in my post) was clearly a single player situation. But as I have written in the past SINS is a bit boring at times...I totally agree. Trying to meld 4X and RTS = semi-dissatisfied players from both sides. I think SINS has a good "base" for the RTS players (not my cup of tea really)..but lacks at least 2 of the "X's" in 4X that lead to a compelling game you can play over and ov
I did manage to take a shower while 5 caps took out a 6k planet.
Why not just increase game speed? Unless you taking REALLY quick shower, if you max out game speed there I suspect it would take much less time. Again if you missed it in previous the hotkey is "+" to go faster and "-" to go slower. Thanks.
Throwing in my two cents: I think Extremor does a good job of comparing and contrasting here. If you are used to turn based strategies...you will find yourself trying to micromanage every battle with frantic "play...pause and assess....pause...play and assess....etc". I'll also emphasize that if you are looking for depth and replayability MOO series is better.
I give it a personal 8 out of 10, moo3 a 7 out of 10, moo2 a 9.8 out of 10 and civ4 a 10 out of 10(just so you
I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere and perhaps there is a toggle switch somewhere that addresses this question: When LOADING a previously saved SINGLE PLAYER game...it should start automatically paused. I think I'm not too much different from many players but once I hit "load" in other games I walk away to get some water, snack, pee...whatever and when I get back game is ready to go. In SINS you do that and take too long doing "whatever" and the game has progressed and yo
....and it's delayed. Patch will be out in "a couple of days" again. No biggie. Just thought this thread should be updated with that info as well.
Upfront my view on the game vacillating between "luke-warm" and "good".
You dislike a game. What is the first thing you do now? A) Play another game which you enjoy. B) Bitch about it in a forum. (x)
Well..there is some value to bringing things to a forum. (1) If it is done constructively it may help create "critical mass" to help guide the developers for the future (patches, expansions etc). For the record I don't think the OP did much to con
Hmmm...I think I may have misinterpretted your original post. I thought you were actually talking about "speed of game" (ie it runs at 2X, 4X..etc by hitting "+" and "-" buttons) not "Speed of research/economy/metal/crystal" (settings of slow, normal, fast). The option you are asking for is for faster economy based items. To me that is just seems like it is turning into a frantic continuous building cycle. If you have nearly unlimited funds that you don't have to "work" for it elimi
I'm still a newbie here...so my post is probably uneducated, so forgive me if I've mistaken what you are saying. 1st: One of the first things I did after playing a quick tutorial game was decrease the rates down to "slow"...thinking I could give myself more time...besides I'm all for EPIC games such as CIV IV (all-time favorite, nearly flawless game) or GAL CIV 2 (decent enough game and well supported). I'm now realizing after several games that the "slow" option just doesn't match th
Thanks for responses Q and bohbohb. bohbohb: (1)...thanks I'll try that when I get home. (2)...kinda what I figured..just wanted to make sure (3) >>I have not had this problem, however, it seems like you're attacking with an exceedingly weak force. 5 Light Frigates? Well, in this particular case, I was actually battling with them in their home gravity well with my main fleet and had already destroyed their frigate factory. I noticed as reinforcements were
Ooh...Forgot one more. (6) "Re-Forming fleet": I kind of micromanage some of the battles and notice that after killing a ship many times my ships will then try and turn around to "reform fleet" even if there is another valid target right in front of them. In so doing they've basically sealed their death sentence by having to fly towards the armada to simply turn around and do a 360 to fight the ship they were perfectly aligned to fight in the first place.... That is frustrati
I've played several games and keep picking up new things that can be done each time...so that is good. In general, I'm definitely enjoying the game but have a few minor questions: (1) Is there no "global summary" of how many ships and what class etc anywhere. I know you have the "windows explorer" like thing on the left hand side, but that is pretty scattered when you are trying to assess the "big picture". Plus the search function above that is pretty darn useless
