"HELP! SOMEONE IS MAKING THEIR OWN MODELS INSPIRED BY OUR IDEAS AND RELEASING IT FOR FREE!"
Unfortunately that's pretty much how it goes with them. They don't understand the concept of a fan-base very well. :)

Unfortunately anything you do with someone else's IP is subject to termination at their behest, even if it's not for profit. I was an artist involved in the very short-lived Honorverse mod for Homeworld 2. It's actually my fault that got shut down, as there was some discussion on copyright permission and I suggested we just ask directly instead of living in constant fear that they might shut us down. I figured if we came to them openly and expressed our love for the mate
Nice to see some other Honorverse fans in here. I was a member of a planned Honorverse Homeworld 2 mod, which, unfortunately, got shut down for IP reasons. Unfortunately David's lawyers frown on fan-created material so an unofficial gaming project is unlikely for Sins or any other game. The story had a happy ending for me, though. I ended up doing art and design for [link="http://www.adastragames.com/"]Ad Astra Games[/link], which holds the official license for most things Honorverse. A
My friends and I have tried this in a game before as well and the same thing happened. It would open up a lot of nice multi-player options if they're able to fix it.
I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this, and maybe offering a few pieces of concept art here and there if they're wanted. Ever since I got into BSG I wanted a strategy game that focused on the first Cylon war, with hundreds of Colonial ships vs. hundreds of Cylon ships. While I doubt you're going to be limiting this to the first Cylon War I am hopeful that a whatever you decide to do at some point I'll get to send my Colonial fleet out to smash some frakkin' toasters. :) Work
I had been trying thinking up a "federation Planetary Bombardment" ship role. The best idea I had was a "transporter beam" that beamed down security squads to fight in ground combat.
This is along the lines of the internal discussions we've been having. Either transporter beams or assault shuttles leave the ships and then instead of nukes on the planet you see webs of phaser fire or something of that nature. It'll probably end up being something like
Thank you for all of your suggestions, everyone. We're glad there's a lot of community interest in the mod already and are confident we can deliver another great Star Trek experience. :) That said, right now our primary focus is getting ship models into the game. We have a rough outline of a Starfleet ship list and some initial choices for the other races as well. For now we're going to spend most of our time designing and modeling the ships. Finer points of balance, ship roles and abil
I've uploaded a small sample of two soase like tracks (I whipped them together in a couple of minutes, so be kind) here if you're interested! Obviously a star trek soundtrack will have a different feel to it, but hey, it's what I happen to have uploaded.
Your stuff sounds great, man! I can't speak for anyone else but I certainly would love to be able to claim original music for our
I only care about Klingon D7's. Without Klingon D-7's it is simply not Star Trek for me.
SoA2 should have them; SoA did, and they were all over DS9. Anyway, some more concept art for you guys, this time for our pale friends the Jem'Hadar:
And now that I have a chance to read it, great job! Keep them coming.
Don't feed the trolls.
Hey Stress, I finished up a dorsal concept sketch of a Breen battleship. I have a render of the regular Breen cruiser next to it for scale. Names are conjectural.
Hey man, I don't see you online anymore on MSN... my SN there is tmarrone (at) hotmail (dot) com. Send me a message when you're on and we'll shoot the shit.
