I believe there should never be a point in the game where you can say "Well my military tech. is well reseached I think I'll convert them to civilian installations now". You should have to always have a number of each kind. I don't have any ideas how this might take place, but I'm confident in the dev's abilities.

Everyone here keeps saying balance this and balance that, but you can never really achieve a good state of balance without completly removing all desire for anyone to use a super weapon. What I am saying is that the amount of destruction has to be equal to the cost of building/firing the thing; for the weapon to really be balanced. That means, number 1, that the cost of firing is relative to the target, meaning that the cost comes after the destruction, which is of course no true. Or secondly, t

It is my experience that when a developer over-balances a game, they kind of kill it. For example the Battlefield series, where someone can take a sniper bullet to the head and keep running. Also what you propose makes absolutly no sense. If you killed the six guys from the Manhattan Project would all nuclear weapons suddenly stop working...no. That would also end up making the game too simple. As you pushed back a civilization they start putting up less and less of a fight due to not having eno

In reality Cruisers are far more powerful then frigates. Frigates are small and their applications limited, but cruisers can engage in battles and provide long-range missle support. In fact since WWII cruisers have replaced battleships in most navies around the world. So for someone to tell me that frigates are the military's backbone and cruisers are support vessels, and me to believe it I would have to be high or have severe brain damage.

I have to say there are some really inventive people on these forums. I like alot of the ideas presented except a few, such as the tractor beam, clocking/anti-cloak and self-destruct/ramming. To me a tractor beam has no real military application. If there is cloaking it has to be very limited, because if anyone can develope cloaking, then everyone has to develope anti-cloaking. With this you add a level of automation to the game where every player has to develope anti-cloaking, just in

I just thought that maybe StarDock was trying to milk this for all it was worth. Not that I have anything against them. I'm really looking forward to playing Sins, but the pre-order won't work. It just says the order is not fulfilled. Oh well I'll just wait for beta 3.
