I mainly play SP on the weekdays and MP on the weekends due to time constraints. But I would say it is definitely worth it, it is still fun and the main thing that annoys me is the cowardly AI that will never put up a fight. However, this should be fixed in 1.03 so just hone up your skills/get familiar to the game for MP.
Quick update.I found my groove. Not a bad game at all. That "Lock Teams" button is a nice addition.
Glad to hear you are learning more and are now beginning to enjoy the game. :CONGRAT:
the thread reads "horrible game". im saying why i find it a horrible game as well. because it just gets boring too quickly. if my opinion really offended u well get over it.
Do you read the original posts? this isn't list why you think this a horrible game thread....the OP is asking if there is something wrong on his part in why he finds the game not enjoyable when everyone else does. Basic reading comprehension
Vista64 not supported.
ya, 64 bit support please!
I'm in!
Why cant people understand you're supposed to make your own campaign..and play it the way you want to0oo?
I agree, gamespot actually got it right tho, in their negatives column they didn't put no campaign and he only made it as a very small complaint. Of course it is expected xplay not to understand
xplay 4/5 [link="http://www.g4tv.com/xplay/reviews/1718/Sins_Of_A_Solar_Empire.html"]WWW Link[/link] Pretty good, I personally dont like xplays reviews all that much but they do rate it highly.
8.5 from 1up is good, I mean Crysis did get a 8 from there(which I think was BS).
Same here still waiting for mines. Normally I would get mad as I payed $10 for shipping but I am already playing the game, I ordered on 2/04/08 so i'm sure they received a ton of orders and need a lot of time to process. So i'll patiently wait till Friday till I get worried, Audiosurf is coming out on Friday I need music for it!
Compared to other games the interface and buttons are really smooth.
ha your that troll from Gamespot, now explain why you are taking the time to write a review on gamespot, troll the forums, and now register on post on the official forums for a game you have only played for ~20 minutes(Your writing suggests that). I'm sorry you didn't get the memo that this game requires a brain, they should have put that on the box with the system requirements.
Oh noes it is Kruelgor from the WIC boards :). It is just like the population of WIC, games going on at all hours of the day. Glad to see you here and considering buying. It will hold you over until your Sudden Strike 3 LOL =p
I want my copy mainly for the physical items and I can finally sit down and read the manaul. I just dont want to read an 80 page manual over the computer. I'm hoping I recieve it tommorow. It better not arrive in a week or two(Thought they used priority mail anyways) because that would be highway robbery charging 10USD for shipping that takes 2 weeks. My motherboard's shipping was only ~5USD over at newegg. However I did read from an ICO employee that they should be arriving at the end
civ is the campaign, that game doesnt need a format storyline campaign because the game itself is the campaign, the whole premis of the game is basically to take over the world, and thats all it needs to be and as per the expansion, why should i pay for something that should have come in the original release? Wow, and you simply don't see ANY of your statement applying to Sins
Very nice, congrats guys I hope Sins is a financial success so far so we can see more in the future :)
Calling this game unfinished is a disgrace to human reasoning everywhere. Games as polished and finished such as this come once every 2-3 years.
Amen...some people need to get out of this mentality that games must have a linear, hold your hand campaign to be a complete game. The MP and SP skirmish games will have more depth than any campaign could provide.
What would a campaign be like for this type of game. If it is extremely linear and basically guides you and tells you what to do for conquest...leave it out.
Give it time, there is still much to learn. I personally started my first game on normal AI and was destroyed, I was still under other games mentality that normal AI is still pretty easy and a good starting point. Well not for Sins, when you start out I recommend you set it to easy defensive on small maps then work your way up. Later I will progress to easy AI FFA 3vs3 so I can ease my way into learning diplomacy and bounties with more players easily. I started at 2vs2 and that was not
Shacknews review: [link="http://www.shacknews.com/featuredarticle.x?id=767&page=1"]WWW Link[/link] Shacknews just straight up reviews the game and doesn't give a score.
I've been having the exact same problem, haven't been able to play a MP game yet thanks to "connection failed:rejected by host" thing. It comes up for every single server on the browser.
For a game like sins it should take a bit longer to review since there is much to learn and cover.
I would say give it time, the more experience you get, you will learn how to use pirates in your favor to turn the tide of things. I dont think pirates are random, everybody has control in who they attack through bounties so it adds a whole new layer of strategy to the game. Pirates in space is a very believable thing. There are pirates in the world today still, of course with all this war breaking out individuals are going to band together and do stuff for the highest bidder. Mercenar
I agree, this system needs some tweaks to it. I feel like i'm constantly being bullied and I dont have any power diplomacy wise. I would like an option to decline missions or maybe just reduce the penalty for choosing to ignore them. Why cant they understand i'm too busy to accept your request but i'll help you later. Personally I would like the system where you have to do more missions(you can choose to decline with no penalty) to gain favor but they dont get all pissy when
The pirates are a very innovative and great idea imo. Adds a new layer of strategy to the game. It is very annoying starting out for the first time tho as I was struggling with my economy to build up a fleet and bidding wars was not helping either. I personally think the mission system needs to be revised instead of the pirate system.
