Does that mean they're still at 75% production efficiency if they're just chilling on the edge of a grav well while the enemy fleet is tied up by other ships? Because from the volume of some of the screamers over carrier nerfs, this just makes them look downright silly.

I sure thought I read that they were fixed recently, but I watched as the 50% done hangar spat flak fire. It's tougher to spot as there's no muzzle flashes, but you can see the shells leaving the structure and heading toward the enemy.

I've only played a little and my sound's been low. So have I missed something? So far all the lines seem to be the same to me, but minus the hick accent.

Yeah, I certainly agree with the elusive aspect. It seems to definitely pertain to autocast however as I've never seen it when I specifically order an ability use. I'm tired so I'll just add in here instead of a new thread that in my same game, I've seen two other things that are weird. One is a bug, one might be by design. 1. TEC Hangar Defense structures are firing their flak when not yet constructed. 2. Dunovs cast their Shield Restore on incom

Meh, tried the land battle for the first time and within five minutes it crashed and asked me to send an error report. Think I'm relegating this one for purchase only a good while after its release and the fatal bugs have hopefully been patched out. I'm hoping that's part of the reason for this Steam-only demo is that they've realized how bad they were at patching Medieval 2 and they think the update support will streamline the process.

I'll attach a save later if no one can easily replicate, but I'm watching my Kol rotate to use this ability on pirates in one of my systems. I can hover over the ability and see the purple circle and the defined 5000 range limit, however as soon as he acquires the right angle he fires and hits the enemy ship from easily half the grav well away. Edit: Hmm, after alt-tabbing behavior has returned to normal. I'll watch the replay later and attach if it demonstrates it.&

Maybe it's just my old monitor only allowing a low, by today's standards, resolution of 1280X1024, but I'm playing it with most everything set at high except I conservatively shut off AA and shadows. The latter as I find they never really add much in the TW games but always seem to suck resources like crazy. My processor's relatively new as it's an E8500, but I'm still using an old 7900GTX. Played smooth with these settings with only a few hiccups. There are numerous

Correct. Just because they were upgraded civilian ships doesn't mean the only civilian ships in the lore were trade and refinery vessels. In fact, the manual lists the Dunov's origins as once being just a very large cargo hauler.

Ignoring all the carrier bickering, good lord am I impressed with all the changes! On top of all these fixes, we get added functionality to modding and something I never dreamed possible with mod stacking. When Entrenchment is fully out and running mostly correctly and I have Bailknight's graphics mod running on top of it, I am going to be one happy camper. Until then, I'm still very eager to try out this Beta 3.

I'll be in the tiny minority that will shed a tear and wave fondly goodbye to the old Cobalt voice. Then again, I'll probably also like the new Cobalt voice even if it's unleashed as something far worse.
What if Strikecraft could only replace partial losses by docking at a carrier and waiting for repairs (albeit brief ones)? What if instead of single ships, hosts had to build the entire squadron?
I like these ideas a lot. Additionally it gives the docking command some more utility instead of just being auto-locked when entering Plasma Storms. A competent carrier commander would have to pull his squadrons back home for repairs and to churn out replacement cra

Are you sure they don't despawn eventually? That used to be a problem with missiles, etc. and was eating up memory but they fixed it so that after it follows down the phase lane for a while, they will poof out of existence.

As much as I've been enjoying the beta, I've come to the conclusion that it's not a must-buy game for me. I'll probably wait and see how Relic's promised new, better, smarter patching comes along and purchase if they really do end up polishing their product.

As long as the deadline is met and the product is working reasonably well, I don't particularly care how far it gets pushed back. Good luck Ironclad and keep up the good work.

http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001027.htm That's one of several articles on the subject Google finds. Additionally, you can read the following: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-ray_machine I only gave it a very quick glance, but since it doesn't sound like X-Ray machines use magnetrons or very strong magnets in their assembly, you're golden. Remember as well that a myriad number of business travelers fly every day and would be subjecting their laptops a

I don't know what causes the TEC behavior, but just wanted to comment that in the last beta I noticed it as well. At times it will rotate 360 and perform as intended. At other times it starts going into convulsions and twitches back and forth.

Just so you know Blair, it's not just through Impulse. Trying to use the add/remove programs option in Windows just sputters and fails when trying to get rid of Entrenchment. No error message at all, it just does nothing. I'm thinking my only option currently is to manually delete folders, run a registry cleaner and reinstall everything. I'm going to try and find my game disc however before doing this to avoid the 700+ MB download again. It's gone missing on me

Yes. I've verified and updated multiple times. Still says its install is incorrect. On the last update just now, it removed the Sins icon from the My Games windows. That's new. Ran the game again and lots of Entrenchment-related UI icons are not present. It does run though which is different than most of the night. Edit: Just updated Entrenchment twice more. Both times the update size was about 5 KB. Now, Sins returns to the My Gam

Uninstalled Sins and re-downloaded the entire thing. Game crashes to the send report screen upon launch. *sigh* Update: Sins briefly verified as being installed correctly, but would not run. Verified Entrenchment and updated it when it was wrong. Game ran. Entrenchment still says it's installed incorrectly. In summation, game gets to opening menu now, but both Sins and Entrenchment selections on Impulse say they're installed wrong and need t

Hmm, saw that thread. Only created this one because I've never been able to even get in the game since the update. I'm trying to reinstall now. Edit: tiberius' suggestion does nothing for me as that's what I tried first. My original problem is that verification and update resulted in the same game launch crashes followed by it telling me to update again.

13 Replies 9,161 Views

Updated both today and now neither will run. If I try to verify their installations, Impulse claims they're installed incorrectly and lets me try and update. The update still crashes just the same and another verify procedure says it's still installed wrong. Time to uninstall/reinstall both? Edit: Great, I've got this as well now when trying to uninstall:
There is an error in XML document (28,8).
