Just throwing out suggestions but here are a few ideas to get the brainstorming going. ;) -FreePort 9 -Sirius -Space Lane -Outer World
The game runs flawlessly on my Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy x86 distro. Here's the kicker... The game won't run for me when i run the game's .exe using wine. My temporary solution is to run the setup.exe from the cd and select the top option, "Modify Available Options". After it finishes 'repairing', it automatically starts up the game and I'm able to play with no problems or freezes as of late. Been playing a few hours now. Just to note, I'm using the latest wine version. Hopefully the next updat
Very cool Maimer1. ;) Definitely keep up the work. I'm still hopeful in seeing some sort of freelancer mod, in some form or another.
Thanks! :)
I wonder if it would be possible to mod in a sort of 'fog of war' on the large universe map. So we don't see the huge amount of planets eating up our system resources. It would only show planets to a certain range, thus allowing for much bigger maps like that for freelancer.
Your off to a good start Alexandus! I definitely want to see this mod make it to completion for this game. As for ideas, I posted a few in my freelancer mod thread here. ;p Didn't know if that helped bring up some new ideas.
Ok bare with me on this as its all just coming to mind. :p I'm sure there are others who have enjoyed Freelancer as much as I have, but I'm curious if there would be any interest for a sort of 'Freelancer RTS' mod that would mimic the gameplay from that game but in rts format. For instance, the map in the game that had all the planets in the universe could easily be made into one giant map for Solar Empire. missions (trade/combat) could be done by getting near a planet or sp
Here's another review I found. http://www.columbusalive.com/?sec=gaming&story=alive/2008/0207/g-gameon.html They gave it a B+
Amazing job so far. :CONGRAT: Loving the 3rd one the most.
Thanks Dark-Star :) Just as a quick note, open this up in paint or other image viewing program and print full size (100%) on preferably cardstock or thick gloss paper. Don't 'fit to page' or it won't come out right. ;) Then simply cut out the overlay using an exacto knife and woila!
Made this in photoshop for those that have the new G15 keyboard. ;) This is just my first one, though I plan on making a few more designs. Hope you like! http://img147.imageshack.us/my.php?image=g15layoutsosego4.jpg
I'm supporting this as well since I have the 2nd generation G15. (Though I think im digging the 1st gen with the blue ;p ) Supporting the use of this would be sweet if stardock and/or the community can make something for it.
Reviews have bias and are "bought" by the marketing departments of major publishers, look at most of the hyped up games that have been released and are average to disappointing. Demos are the closest way to bypass the bias and hype and see if you actually like the game. Shame the demo of bioshock didn't stop me from buying the contrite pile of crap that it truly is.
To each their own, this game had a unique setting and art style, given the time period it was set in.
