I have a folder that contains about a dozen shortcuts of my favorite apps. I added it via Advanced under Configure After I boot up Windows it takes a long hover to display my shortcuts as flyouts, longer than Control Panel and Administrative Tools which are also menus. How can I speed up things?

You are absolutely correct PauLFC. I have dual monitors and it works just as you described it. Obviously better multi-monitor support is needed.

I just installed Start8 and decided to buy it. One thing I noticed is that when I run a Modern app in windowed mode the charms bar is active again as well as the W8 mini start window on the bottom left. I disabled the Charms Bar in Start8. Should this be happening?

I don't have to run a Modern app to see this behavior. Also, if memory serves me correct, I was always able to see the W8 mini Start window even before I installed MM. It took some work positioning the pointer just right on the lower left of my screen. After 1.05 it is now very easy to bring up the window. To be honest CSM has so many more options than Start8 however I'll give Start8 another try now.

I've had this problem all along. I use Classic Start Menu and have the W8 Start mini screen disabled but it starting showing up after I first installed MM albeit it took a little effort to make it appear. Bringing it up is a lot easier with 1.05. Also, I do not have to start and close a Modern app to get it.

My problem is being caused by using this program to disable hot corners http://winaero.com/comment.php?comment.news.103 I re-enabled the hot corners and MSC works fine now. MSC is the first new app I ran after I first started using this program so perhaps that''s why my 'old' metro apps worked.

The first time I run MSC in modern mode I create a windowed shortcut. Running it brings up MSC in a window. All is well at this point. If I then exit MSC and fire it up again I see the windowed mode flash on my screen for a second and then I am thrown into the ModernUI Start screen. Any ideas? My other apps work fine in Windowed mode. I believe this is a new version of MSC, fwiw.

IMO once you close the app it should be removed from the strip (what is this called?) on the left side of the screen. After all, Modern apps are supposed to be like desktop apps with MM.

I'm getting EL errors like the one below of all apps that go through ModernMix. App Microsoft.BingWeather_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App did not launch within its allotted time.

I looked into this more closely. Even though the app appears on the left side after closing, it does not appear in Task Manager. So it seems after you close the app it remains as a sort of recent programs type of thing.

Closing the app via the 'X' button still has it showing up when you hover the pointer on the upper left corner as it always did. Shouldn't the app be removed completely?

IMO changing my weather icons shouldn't cause Impulse to trigger a bogus update. I guess Impulse uses a hash to keep track of things.

Boy is OD+ really screwy. I discovered I was on 538 for quite awhile without any tray problems after looking at some older backups. Then I lost my tray somehow and on Impilse I uninstalled/reinstalled and got the release I mentioned in one of my posts above. After this I changed my Weather icons and when I got back into Impulse it said I have an update. I ran it and I got 538 and no tray. I then ran SDC and uninstalled 538 and then reinstalled. Now I ha

I got rid of SDC when Impulse came out. I'll use the link above to get it. Why doesn't Impulse have these updates if it is the replacement for SDC?

where are you guys getting 537 and 538 from? I just had to reinstall OD+ and got 535u according to the About window and on Impulse it says v1.90.033 (8/5/2008).
