3 Fundamental rules to a 1v1 Don't build defense. EVER Prioritize Military tech over civic tech Only colonize asteroids/Terran/desert planets and upgrade the infrastructure(to lessen the credits lost) until you can safely get Fire/Ice(keep in mind the military over Civic rule)

Yes I've got that beat hands down. I was AFK for the first 19 mins in a 2v2 on a 20 planet map and still won the game by a landslide. That is the worst start ever.

NO 2 squads would be ridiculous, 1 squad as it is makes hordes of bombers insanely hard to handle. People just use them like candy and complain when their candy melts. You can Dock your fighters/bombers, I use it a lot, I will jump into a gravity well with docked bombers, and target whatever flak ships i can find, then release the bombers and enjoy. Also having too many Robotics cruisers can and will be a negative impact on your fleets performance. As for Kol vs Marza, The Marza is

Fleet composition Early stages 1 Marza and as many Cobalts as you can reasonably afford(usually caps out your fleet supply after your 2 scouts and Colony ship) 2-3 Military labs> LRM's Fleet composition 58/38/4 LRM's/Cobalts/Robotics cruisers Later in the game it's usually 50% LRM's 30% Cobalts,5% Robotics cruisers,5% flak(all my capital ships build fighters anyway) 5% Cielo Command cruisers W/Designate target 5% Kodiaks. I gradually try and replace my cobalt fleet wit

I tend to use the Marauder as more of a strategic weapon, the speed buff allows yout to blow past most defenses with a sizable fleet and when it has a few levels on it and some anti matter research it recharges pretty fast, you can get in blast some research stations away and escape

Actually Plasma storms don't stop launch, They will prevent launch if your Fighters/bombers are in the Ship but if you Phase in with them they can fly around freely, so really there is no drawback to plasma storms. Magnetic clouds are great fi your enemy is Support/Capital ship heavy

Phase Jump Inhibitors I have great use for, they don't take up space and they are good at slowing Siege frigs from blowing past your, Also if you succeed in a space fight in the systems gravity well it takes them longer to jump out, and if you have your races Shut down skill(for capital ship) they will never escape(cool down is faster then jump out) Any of the techs affecting AI happiness towards your, or pirate strength. The advent one that changes how much you gain is nice becaus

I played a 3v3 last night with some friends(they were new to the game) one of the players had a Marza and nothing but LRM's (literally like 30-40 at a fairly early stage of the game) so i said to my friend build Defense vessels they eat LRM's not paying attention he also built like 30-40 defense vessels... yeah Defense vessels and Illuminators ate through his LRM's and Cap ship like it was a fresh baked pie... made of reinforced Armour and awesome front load DPS but still he neglected fleet bal

I think the logic behind that is that the Ship itself uses it's engines or whatnot you stabilize the newly formed(but temporary) phase lane, I agree that the ship should be able to use it's own ability to bug out, because it's whole design is a raiding ship. Later in the game you can blast past any defenses with the speed skill and slow the production down on several planets(anti matter permitting) but escaping is another story, you can take a bunch of siege ships with you and they can escape, b

I wasn't asking for strategies, I don't need peoples strategies, i can come up with my own perfectly fine, i am definitely a higher level player then most who use the forums. I was asking for support on trying to get an area where we could disseminate this knowledge in a more effective manner. So please I'm not asking for strategies i'm asking on support to get an area where we don;t need to listen to people talking about killing AI or the number one awesome ultra mega AI killing plan.

Well what I would like to see is a new thread for Multiplayer Strategy only, as it is now the multiplayer thread is mostly tech support issues and the strategy thread is alot of "the AI is doing this, or pirates keep killin' mah stuff" Honestly, i don;t see much use in a game where I have to fight AI and my main concern is beating intelligent opponents So i'd like an area where that could be the primary focus. It would of course include all manner of things pertaining to beating real players, St

No not me, i don't touch advent, Their Weak and compassionate. TEC is ruthless and cunning, at least when i play them, My motto is "No one outbids the TEC" taking 75% of dmg is besides the point because it's still a ton of damage for a starter ability. As for running, you can't run from every fight otherwise your more crippled then you would have been.

ok this post is concerning the Jarrasul Evacuator(The whale) and Any effective method to kill it, This ship with Nano dissassembler will Destroy any capital ship of a relatively equal level early in the game, Nano Dissassembler does 30 Damager per second for 20 seconds(and it cools down in 12) and at level 0 it buffs -2 Armour to the target, level 1 -4, level 2 -6. having level 1 in a skill can be fairly easy early on so most often you fight this ship And it has your armour in the negative, and

Insurgency Affects all their systems, it's a random factor, some players will try and sound tough and say "Ohh yeah i love the free experience " but everyone knows it's annoying as hell to have units pillaging your resource planets, and if your enemy build defenses back there then thats supplies going into static emplacements and not ships. From the wording Pervasive economy sounds like only the Black market, 20% of all Purchases of anything seems a little over powered. even as it

I didn't find it all that use full, but maybe thats because it's about as informative as a pizza delivery boy... on crack. It seems geared towards Single/AI opponents, and anything that works about computer enemies fails miserably against real players.

The relatively small disabled period provided by the Akkan and it's abilities Antimatter cost means it can't be kept on the ship and even while it's active The akkan+ supporting fleet can't kill your Marza early on. And in Multiplayer the Kol's tankign abilities are largely overlooked simply because heavy "tank" units are targetted after the supporting arms of your fleet are dead

Your homeworld starts off Fine, Asteroids take 1 upgrade to eliminate Credits lost to underdevelopment and a marginal population increase(more taxes) Ice planets and Volcanic planets take 2 Civilian infrastructure upgrades to remove credits lost to underdevelopment (at leats i think it's 2 for both, and pretty sure it's 2 for terran planets also...) The VERY FIRST thing you want to do when colonizing a planet is research at minimum the first level upgrade. because if you expand to rapidly you wi

I would disagrre about not going Marza first, As far as TEC capships go the Marza outputs about the same DPS as the Kol, and the Akkan isn't all that special, Ion does come in handy sometimes, but it eats a lot of Antimatter to keep it on a capital ship, Also the Akkan moves slower then the other capital ships reducing your time moving through gravity wells, and if your up against a Kol or a Marza, your Akkan is going to have to turn tail and run sooner because of it's speed. Perhaps you are correct, It's just irritating as hell to be in 3v3 with useless allies and you have to sacrifice your fleet to buy a few extra minutes with not help from your team, and then you sit there like a 3 legged dog while your team looses their entire host of core worlds because he's to bull headed to phase back and mop up a few ships. Maybe I'm just used to playing at levels above my team and i try and do everything myself.

I'm wondering why upkeep isn't tied directly to current fleet size. The way it is right now it is directly based off your highest researched fleet supply tech. But if your ships die in combat it can be incredibly tiresome to have upkeep taking off your planets income without actually having ships that would theoretically need upkeep.

Whatever you release in the next patch please make sure that you add in 1 more character to the planet rename screen because i want to name my home planet Crimson Empire except as it is now i can't add in the last e, thats all I request(I play as red, and I'm super aggressive- they just seem like a natural fit)

Iirc TEC gets Anti-matter regeneration in friendly culture and Advent get shield mitigation, So if you culture bomb a planet and then invade your taking less dmg to your shields + the ability of your support ships that knocks dmg off the top. coupled with Advents high shield tech. ( i forget what Vasari bonus is in culture... dmg maybe?) Also you can use the Culture cannon thing to wipe out enemy culture in a system, jump in Nuke the planet, colonize it and then set up Culture spreading

Advent get Culture spreading at T.2(harmony) TEC get Trade posts at T2(Civic) and Vasari get Advanced ships at T.1(Warfare) Honestly i would never in 1 billion years take the Colonize capital ship unless i were on a map with more then 60 planets. iirc it moves slower then every other capital ship in the game because the logic was that all colony vessels have to travel slower then their counterparts. Like colony frigates moving slower then light frigates.(in the beta it moved 100 seed sl

Vasari get their more advanced forms of ships at Warfare level 1 and iirc the Assailant missile ship gets a dmg mod against capital ship armour, it is a heavy investment early on because of crytal cost but if you can secure an ice planet it's simple enough to maintain. get some of these going and simply target cap ships right from the start(normally i'd say frigate hunt for experience first) a player never wants to lose their capital ship so when he retreats(if he's too late you win) or he also
