I'm gonna say 1: Neverwinter Nights 2. I LOVED the first series and played it and all the expansions. Something about NWN2 has just not interested me, though. 2: Star Wars: Empire at War and Forces of Corruption. The game has potential, but the combats get way too tedious for me. Taking over a single system is way too difficult. 3: Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. I longed for a super hero game after i got tired of City of Heroes. This got
Just a quick reply while I look into the issues above: the Heavy Fighters upgrade appears to be greyed out but it's really not... it's just.. colorless. Try spending your 3 points and you'll find it works on heavy Fighters. I'm going to release a full 1.6 download in the next few hours which will fix all the above issues!
Well, I'll have to try it then. I didn't realize it was available. The
Quoting Barbaric Penguin, reply 12I got the level 6 ability - the quick build fighters. It was after that when I had 3 points in repair, 3 in embargo and 1 in quick-build fighters. The next point was unspendable in any category, including Heavy Fighters that never was enabled. This did not happen in my game. I was able to spend all my points. Make sure that you installed all the patches in the correct order, I

I found a problem when playing last night. The second Imperial capital ship (forgot what the name is, but second one to choose to build at start) has a problem when it reaches level 8. I had a level point, but there was no where to put it. I had 3 points in repair, 3 points in embargo and 1 in instant strike craft build. Heavy Fighters never enabled, and everything else was not enabled, either. Also, I find it not very useful to have no Colonize on either of th

Now just make it so I can take my game installed in Windows with Impulse and move it over to my WINE copy on Linux or OSX so I can play my game in WINE instead of Windows. Some games work just fine in WINE, after all, and I can ignore the whole Windows crap. :) Steam works in WINE, btw, so I have Civ IV and Rome: Total War installed using Steam in WINE and play them just fine that way. If you REALLY want to be customer friendly, this would be possible with Impulse, t

This game has diplomacy? Since I only play single player (don't have the time to devote to multiplayer), diplomacy doesn't really work for me in this game. I lock sides and go to war! Seriously, diplomacy seems to be an afterthought in this game. This game is more like a grand scale RTS than a 4x strategy game. 4x games have much deeper and involved diplomacy. Sins doesn't really seem to work that way. Really, I haven't done much with diplomacy

Here's a thought... make the map only have 1 star. Yes, I know that makes it more "unrealistic" as far as multiple stars go, but it completely solves the wormhole problem and the star graphics problem. Model each "system" as a cluster of planets instead with everything around a single star on the map itself. You could still model the actual stars as gravity wells you can't colonize if you wanted to keep the star idea there. Then the multiple jumps between planets repre

I wouldn't be too concerned about the speed of jumps between stars. Taking longer would be not really be fun for the game itself, though it would be more in line with the setting. We could just consider it a hybrid between Honorverse and the Starfire series Weber was also involved in. Travel between stars in Starfire is "instant" using warp points. We already can't combine all the planets around a star into one big gravity well, after all. We'll just have to work

I'm also looking at the existing races in Sins and trying to map them to the universe. The setting doesn't really have any alien races since they're all one human "empire" facing against another. TEC seems the most obvious for all of them, but that would be the most boring if everyone used that. So TEC could easily be Manticore. I'm thinking Vasari would be a representation of the "Peeps", or at least the earlier books Peep gov't because they were more aggressive.&nbsp

I've searched the forums and there have been very few mentions of Honorverse-like mods. It seems the consensus is that the property is rather tightly held for Honorverse ship designs, so doing a complete conversion for David Weber's Honor Harrington series is unlikely. Plus, looking at the ship designs for the setting, all the ships would mostly end up looking the same anyway, since they're all kind of cigar shaped. That wouldn't be very interesting visually (at least not to

I've long wanted a game just like this. Heroes of Might and Magic series are close, but not quite, to the kind of game I've wanted to play. Fantasy: Total War probably about as best as I can think of for the kind of fantasy strategy game I've wanted to play. Elemental seems like it is going to be that game. I sure hope it is, anyway.

I've tried it on Crossover Games on my Macbook Pro. It runs fine for a few minutes, but then it locks up the whole desktop after about 5-10 minutes of play. If that locking up problem can be resolved, it would be just fine.

In real life combat there is only "Unfair". Think of it as you are the struggling rebellion against the mighty evil empire (hmm... that sounds familiar somehow...). Really, having the AI get better resources to start with is not that big of a deal in the state of things. If you can overcome greater odds against you by starting as an underdog it would be more of an accomplishment. Now, if the AI were able to skip researching to get units, gets them cheaper or faster, or some other c
