I know exactly what you guys are talkin about now. I'm gettin looooots of jagged edges with some magenta specks stuck on the edges sometimes. I guess I'll do what you suggested and take my images back into Photoshop 7 and try to clean it up with the pencil.
Lo Pan
The problem is that often the button will be placed against a background that has gradients, which makes it difficult/impossible to fake the transparency. (unless i'm thinking of it the wrong way ) I'll keep it in mind though and try to do it when I can. thanks for the tip.
Thank you very much!
P2P is far from useless. Call it wrong or immoral if you want, but I promise you I get tons of use out of it.
When I create a button in photoshop, there's always a little bit of transparent background around the edges, especially when what I'm making isn't rectangular. However, when saved as a bitmap, what used to be transparent in photoshop is made white by default. Is there a way I can avoid this? I want my unused canvas to remain transparent so only the button shows up when I import it into skin studio. Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Everyone's wealth of Big Trouble knowledge is quite impressive. I applaud you all. As for the typing, I have a secretary with green eyes who I dictate my message to through telepathy. Thanks for the link, it has some stuff that just might help. And for the person who asked what i'm trying to skin, good point, i should have mentioned that. Just tryin to make a windowblinds skin (that's as best as I can describe it at this point in my progression).
Okay. I just wanna give this one more bump up. And then I promise I won't do it again.
Hello. I'm trying to get into skinning and I'm having a lot of trouble which is surprising me. Anyway, I'm looking for somebody to possibly lead me in the direction of a good tutorial to get me started. I'm trying to use the one stardock links to by Alexander but I just can't seem to get going with it. I'm having little, annoying problems like buttons not showing up where they're supposed to and whatnot. I feel like I need a beginner's faq or tutorial if one exists. Thanks
