LMAO!!! That is the funniest Sins story I've heard in a long time Can you upload the replay? I HAVE to watch it.
I've only got the regular save, didn't think about saving the replay :( edit: loading up some autoreplays to see if they're new enough, thanks for
hydrocarbn
Uh, slow game and save it?
That's....unfortunate. Perhaps a popup message verifying you wish to target the colony in question might help?
No, I launched them like a half hour before then from another solar system, then took the planets forgetting I launched them. Durrrrr. Thankfu
Oh crap, I just realized I launched another volley afterward and they're now heading merrily to my planets. Make that six colonies.
If a Vasari player uses the phase out ability on his structures, then is defeated, those structures stay phased out forever.
Please implement a "self-destruct" button on a timer for the missiles. :p
-It would be nice to choose where you started on any given map.
Yeah, this would be really nice. I'd like to see the planet-on-edge-of-galaxy scroll issue fixed as well as the HYPER-ZOOM that happens when zooming in to other stars (was fixed in Beta 3 IIRC) as well. Also, change "civilian slot" to "logistics slot" in Development Mandate (TEC tech tree) right now it's indecipherable.
This should probably be in off topic. Is your BIOS set up to disable the on-board sound?
I see. So not liking Pirates is the equivalent of not liking the economic side of the game, including the gathering of resources and credits.
Yes it is, because it's the only way a economy-focused player can survive without getting slammed a half hour into a game. I use pirates as a buffer to hit/delay other players for a thousand credits or so as I build up my economy and research, otherwise I would get steamrolled by some guy who decides to dump thousands of
Stromko: Dawn of Victory implements custom ships.
I The Pirates are a controversial CONCEPT as well as being controversial in their implementation. People who dislike the Pirates are not necessarily poor players at SINs who simply can't deal with the 12 minute raid cycle. I can see that Pirates are so integral to this game that I will never enjoy as much as GalCiv II or Europa Universalis or anything in between and that's sad. Pirates . . . in a serious space strategy game . . . I still can't believe this nome
Bumping this as I don't think it was noticed and it's a pretty big issue..at least #1 is.
The DVD is of course a computer-hacking super virus infecting you with a botnet cleverly disguised as a "real time strategy" game by the dastardly co-conspirators Ironclad and Stardock. It's a good thing you saw through their clever plans, though not without the loss of your lunch money.
Couldn't you add a buff to all ships that spawns an animated death clone on..death? (I know this is a buff type). Failing that, just make a giant particle explosion and end up having the death clone just sit there and float around.
You already have the .entity editor - notepad. What you need from us is are the original source files and a converter. We hope to have them up in the next day or two.
So does the converter only go from text to binary and not the other way around? I like this. I like this a lot.
Following that logic, there's no point in making a Star Wars mod for Sins, because Empire at War is already out, or any other mod since a real company will make a similar game some day.
I'm actually sort of wondering the point of making a Star Wars mod for Sins in the first place anyway for that exact reason. If it's going to be a franchise-fest, I'd rather see the ones underrepresented as existing games be modded in. Also note th
Don't bother arguing with schod, it's not really worth it. The changes are excellent, I haven't had much of a problem with siege stuff but the pirates did need to be toned down. Changelog looks good, looking forward to the lobby, wish I could see previous messages from the lobby and from the game channel though when I switch between them.
It seems as if every time I warp into a system with local militia forces (and perhaps other fleets as well, though I haven't noticed) my capital ship decides to start pecking away at the flak frigates before the light cruisers and siege frigates, which I see as a much larger priority. Is it possible for the AI to not prioritize these flak frigates as much?
Play on fast. Play smaller games. Play with less players.
Yea great fun - a game with four allies against one enemy. Very strategic and logic gameplay really...

Perhaps you should play multiplayer before complaining?
That or set your AI differently. Rather than, as was summed up excellently,
trolling the official forums one day after launch
. Granted, "This is a nothing post, from someone who doesn't understand what a computer game is. Or a good
Yes, but I think Ironclad knew their astronomy because there is a special option for "random non-green star" in the map editor :p
The Forge tools are now available. They're a free download in the downloads section.
Uh, I still only see GalaxyForge? Other than that, good news! Very surprised at the Amazon top-seller thing, sales should only get better from here. Sleeper hit indeed!
I paid for a nice strategic game and not for a stupid all against human game.
Perhaps you should play multiplayer before complaining?
It was really hyperbole, what I meant was that the game mechanics were so skewed in favor of the AI teaming up with itself that it almost seemed like it was bypassing the normal "do a bunch of difficult missions" thing and therefore cheating. On the upside, I have had very little problems with siege frigate spam! I just play MP half the time anyway. :p
DX10 is not a magical software update that automatically makes everything look like it came directly out of Star Wars. You can do neat stuff with it but saying "oh we should just have DX10 in the game" means absolutely nothing.
