It seems that the "phase lane chance" - option in the map designer does not work at all. When changing from one extreme to the other and each time looking at the preview, or saveing the map and playing, there is no difference. Can someone confirm this or is it my fault?
@Sorceresss May your words come true!
With the new economy system it is cheaper to buy resources, that is true. Against common belief this ist not the end of the world. I am sure, developers will look at the problem.
But I agree that the U.S. is without a doubt THE stabilizing power in the world. And then people go ahead and insult Americans.
Yes, lets thank America for peace and Guantanamo :)
So it's time to say, good bye to you...
That's not enough. My enemy has only three planets but as many ships as max-capacity allows. In the endgame credits are no problem (I had about 200.000) so he can easily pay the upkeep cost. But in my opinion he should not be allowed to have as many ships. Seen from another angle: I have 50 planets he has three and there is no difference in the endgame - worse: since I have to defend other places of my empire too, it is not even equal.
He only has 3 planets left. Almost all of his economy is gone, agreed lot of logistic needed but the infrastucture isn't there anymore! It seems no problem with shorter (5+ hours :) ) games, but I definitely won't play above this anymore.
The max fleet-size should be linked to the number of planets and/or the advance in research, I think. You have a point too. If I loos all my ships, why pay for the upkeep?
I had a very long game against initially 6 computer oponents when I realized something disturbing: I have about 50 planets to guard against my enemies. If an enemy ist down to a few planets, lets say 3 - he still has the same fleet capacity as I have. But I have to fight off 2 others (his friends) so that seems a design flaw to me. No complaints for the rest of the game so far.
Read about fleet logistics in the manual and here in the forum. Read the tooltips on the buttons in the reaearch window (fleet logistics!). Research capital ship commanders and supply. Let us know if you found out.
- more winning conditions - spy ships (that can't be detected), culture ships, jump inhibitor ships, - ships or space stations that can build or destroy phase lanes (or wormholes) - more variety for missions. - single player campaign (for those who like it) - stay on the path (not another 08/15 RTS)
You spent 60 hours, read the manual, got help here and still don't understand the game? Maybe its the wrong game for you?
