Congrats. Hoping for a successful launch!
We just updated the patch that addressed a stuck turn.
That fixed it. You guys are awesome.
I'll piggy back on this issue. I've experienced the same issue. Was playing a game several hundred turns in on an insane map with no mods but custom races from Steamworks. Within a few dozen turns of loading the game post-hotfix yesterday it would hang any time I tried to clear any heavily defended precursor anomaly. Thinking it was just a lost cause because it was a 1.8 game and not a 1.8-hotfix game, I tried a new game. This ga
There is just so much awesome in this post. Looking forward to playing it.
Just thought of a 2 questions: 1) Will Ashes release with a stand-alone installer or will it only be available through Steam? If not, PLEASE release a stand-alone... i loathe Steam Thank You
I'm reasonably certain this ship has sailed. Steamworks simply provides too much value to developers. Personally, I don&
Funny, most places it's the other way around. Business people rushing the developers to hurry up and finish so they can get it out the door. It's interesting that it's the opposite here. Sounds like you folks need to hire some more business people. Edit: I never answered the question. Release it whenever makes the most sense. I'm playing it now and having fun with it. /shrug
It was in email and on the website front page asying it would not go below $45.
I'm going to call bullshit. I went back through all my emails from Stardock back to early 2012. Not once on GC3 or any other product was there ever a statement that a price "would not go below $X". Not one. Not on any product. Moreover, why on earth would a company say that? It makes no sense.
The War of Magic stumble may have been the best thing to ever happen to Stardock Games. You guys are killing it the last few years. Really impressed. Ashes looks like the first RTS I'll buy in a long while.
The SK is the good guy because the SK won and history is written by the victors.
Uh... I don't see the game in my library even though I added my key to steam...
Did you try completely closing steam and reopening it? It should be there. I just got done playing for 15 minutes, so it definitely works.
Keys are available in your account on stardock.com. I have the game installing now through Steam. Figured I'd post it since I haven't seen an announcement or email yet.
I agree that seeking the opinion of like-minded people is what people want in essence. So why not, for instance, correlate user reviews on Steam with their game library and bring those who are close to yours to the fore? Not everyone has the time or desire to crawl through forums and learn what each user is like, if they overstate / understate things, etc.
NVM,.. I misread your response. I'm a dope.
For crowd-based platforms to replace journalists. Power to the people!
Yeah, cause this wouldn't be a disaster. Just look at how the metacritic brigades descend upon any site that gives a poor review to the flavor of the month game. Imagine some large official version of a crowd-based system, rather than just an aggregate site with a larger readership. It'd be nothing but a targeting sys

There have been quite a few hints that an Elemental IP based RPG is in the works.
1. I like when diplomacy isn't boiled down to a number. Now, I know in the background that is always the case, but the games with the best diplomacy are the ones where the relationships between races look and feel like relationships, not an ever adjusting solution to an equation designed to calculate the relationship status. If I've spent a lot of time and resources developing a bond with another empire, it should come across in the words used when spe
So... how about those Founder's Vault updates? My daughter has doubled in age since the last one it was so long ago. [e digicons]O:)[/e]
Anyone else find it ironic that the world's best strategy game makers are strategically aligning themselves to work with each other?
When you're #1 in the power rank always get an alliance with #2. Then... win! Anyone not using Google Authenticator at this point is taking a massive, unnecessary risk. It's trivially easy to use and, even better, it integrates with other login systems. I use it for all my Gmail accounts as well as my LastPass account and several others I'm not remembering right now. You have to put in a six digit random code off your phone the first time you log into your account on a new computer. That's it. You can check a little box that re

www.galciv.com/founders is still there and works. Nothing new since 6/11/14, but it's all still there.
I think this is one thing that we can't adequately judge until we're closer to being feature complete. The frustration, or lack thereof, created by the ages could very well be impacted dramatically by the rest of the feature set and by the late development balance changes.
If I had 1 wish for the gaming media is that they would stick to writing about games. If they want to be social activists, fine, do it on your own dime. I don't shove my politics into our products. I just want the people who play our games to enjoy themselves.
This is the answer everywhere. When writing about sports, sports writers should stick to sports. The same goes for gaming media or movie cri
