I originally bought the game at launch but I haven't played much. It was too much RTS and too little 4X for me at the time. Anyway, I was thinking of jumping back in and buying the two expansions but I was wondering if the AI has been improved. Is it challenging in any way or is the meat of the game in PvP? Two things that I remembered that bothered were that the races were pretty much the same except for minor differences and that playing online took too long.... So, has the game

Did IC ever mentioned if as part of the modding tools it willl be able to modify the AI?
