I'm gonna put a Xanax lick on these forums for everyone.

Can't we all just...get along? We don't even know exactly what the patch will do yet. There's too much ego, and it clouds the general quality of what people are going for. Let's see what happens. Sins is a great game. Let it continue to grow. Most people seem to want true fleet battles, vs. fighting against Siege suicide squads. I had my first "true" fleet battle in gold-version, and it was fun. 4 caps + 30 frigates vs my 7 caps + 18 frigates. Bloody, bloo
Kindness is a virtue, be good to others. We'll see how the patch plays out, there's some nice changes, fixes and such - could be good. If not, they'll fix things next week. Right now I'm in a 8 person FFA vs 2 easy, 3 normal, 2 hard - seeing which AI does what, when and how, doing my best to track things...I get easily distracted by my three front war. Will be interesting to see what happens when patch comes out...for all we know frigates went from 500 armor to 40
Would be nice to somehow add a function for "defensive" specialist, "offensive" specialist or "middle ground." Anything to add more tactical/strategic fun...the better. Sort of a slash of COH style. As much as this game borrows from B5 (which is a great thing!) I envisage a great battlefleet trying to advance, when its support outpost (not planet) is lost. Sort of a defensive/repair station that is beefy, but costly.
What we need is a Shofixti-style ship from Star Control II. Huge fleet of siege frigates? Single small frigate with a glory device goes in the middle of them! Kablooie! Good idea yes? har har
I did lose a game of Sins to a chicken...it was sad. :(
Interesting posts... ...btw...Scynix did we game together somewhere?
I agree, if you don't care about the ships - then they're just that, cannon fodder. The siege rush doesn't seem to affect me as much, since I tend to have my outer colonies combined defenses and ships. My more curious note is how they AI will use this against one another, accomplishing very little, except trading planets to each other. ...now, if the AI learns to follow up their Siege Rush, with true combined arms/colony frigate...ouch time.
When your big ships are hammering the siege frigates, and those frigates are still bombing the planet...that's silly. In combat, one of the worst things that could happen to you is being attacked on a flank, or the rear echelon. The gun platform thing, doesn't work. Oh it hurts'em, won't stop'em. Really, some sort of defense platform/outpost is what we need. *wink* My problem with the siege spam are the AI's that "trade" planets. Both AI will use Siege Frigate fo
Well, good thing I came home for lunch! ....the next four hours are gonna suck...
As King Theoden remarked... "So it begins." Once more the hamsters will rule the galaxy...and we shall have...peace.
I've always wondered what BG would be like with "today's" tech... ...until then, I routinely include sections of it into my reality!
Many eyes will be "going" for'd! Attack...I say attack!
All of us Sci-Fi fans and no War of the Worlds references? Thunderchild! The one and only!
Safe to say it's already uploaded...hmmm.... 23:00GMT = 6:00PM EST.
Well like they say about technology, EA could damage/destroy Minbari ships, that wasn't the issue - it was the jamming/stealth problems. ...seems like the only hard ships to "kill" were Shadow/Vorlon ones. Even the White Star, if taking a direct hit from an Omega would turn into bits. So balance for this will be...interesting.
...can't...wait...must play! I can live out all my dreams, or...well nightmares!
10 player game? FFA? Wow....multiple battles going on in same...planetary...wells...oh my! I'll throw my name in there. Unless of course someone more..."famous" is available. I am just a hamster afterall. All I know is running and going for the eyes.
50+ planets...yikes. Now, stop teasing, early release! :)
Now now, let's not get too hard on the console market... ...where would the world be without... [link="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atari_2600"]WWW Link[/link]
Towards the end of the series, Earth was making vast strides technologically. The Warlock-class, while using technology from "off-world" 'the grav drive' -- was largely an Earth driven project. Of all the races in the show, the only one we "see" evolve is the Earth Alliance. The Minbari, Centauri and Narn don't seem to change much of their ships, or tech...depends on what you want to use as canon. As long as my Olympus is in there, the better! I still get goosey when I wat
There is a lot of Babylon 5 reference in Sins (a good thing!) In B5 some of the most powerful races had what...maybe a dozen colonies and some outposts? ...while we all dream of an Empire-style from Star Wars, I get annoyed sometimes needing to build farms on the "Planet o'Hamster 98". I do miss orbits though, a nice tactical hoo-hah if that was in there. "What angle will they come from?!"
All the hints for future expansions...yummy. So much to do...must...take laptop to work!
Green apples grow more. Since both 'green' and 'grow' begin with "gr" that is fact now. And quantity > quality, like my space fleets. ...if you had the MOST of the BEST apple, that'd be different. Since we're on topic of course, can we somehow mod Crysis into SOASE...then we will know.
Many a lost days of work will begin...again. I may be new, but I'll fight ya'll! ...and die, but I'll learn! And fail more, but it will be fun!
