Even with the guass cannon improvements, I've still been skeptical and only used hanger defenses and starbases so far. How do people think upgraded guass cannons compare to using hangers now?

I'm new to Entrenchment, what is the fighter movement ability?
I just happen to check out the page about Impulse Reactor today , and it seems like Sins isn't using any of these except the anti-piracy and maybe also the IRC channel. I'm pretty sure the Sins achievements are just stored on the local machine, multiplayer is done through Ironclad online (which is fine, but the integration of Reactor sounds better), and I didn't know Impulse had an overlay similar to Steam. <
Good ideas Haze and CenturionJixra, I think having one executable where you could enable/disable expansions in Game Options and also see ALL games is the best idea
How will combining of microexpansions work once the next one is released? Right now you either have Entrenchment or you don't so it's farely simple. Once the 2nd one comes out, you could either have only vanilla, only one of the expansions, or both expansions. How will this work? You would obviously want all content from both Entrenchment and the 2nd expansion, but what if you wanted to play a multiplayer game against someone who only had the 2nd expansion? </p
It's been a while since this I posted this, but seeing if there is still any interest.
Thanks man, using Tab for whispering to players should be very useful, typing in names would be a pain!
double post, sorry
I posted this bug earlier in a separate thread, but just saw this thread so am adding it. Ships ignoring queued commands: I've played a few games of Sins in the past week or two (after not playing Sins for a few months), and seemed to have noticed this bug. A few times I will queue orders to destroy a few structures to a group of ships, and I'll come back to them a minute or two later and they will be doing someth
So essentially, if their current command wasn't specifically given by me, the queued phase jump won't work. Is it treated as a move order instead, so they just fly to the edge of the grav well and sit there? And how are you trying to queue the jump? Clicking on the target planet, or somewhere within the grav well?
No, the order isn't taken at all, it's ignored. The ships will finish attacking the las
After updating to the Beta on my laptop as well, I did notice that "Use Team Colors" is now on by default, and it did not use to be before the beta. I think the devs should change it back to avoid some confusion.
I have run into a specific queuing issue a few times from playing the current Beta the last few weeks. My ships will not queue a phase jump if their current action is attacking an enemy ship automatically. This might be best explained in an example: My ships in a sector are cleaning out the militia. I zoom in on the sector and they are currently attacking ship X. I queue them to then attack ship Y and Z, and then try to q
Ah, that fixed it...didn't realize there were 2 different options for that. Thanks!
I still have the problem. I've tried starting new games with the option on and off, still the same green colors. I've restarted Sins as well.
I am using the new beta version, and the game does not use the player color I selected. Every game I have started, it always uses the color green. At the top of the screen, during a game, it does have my name with the correct color (blue) and symbol, but all of my ships, planets, icons, etc are all green. Anyone else encounter this?
Just download the mod, pretty good change. My only complaint is the being able to see all the borders for the squares that make up the skybox. Is there a file in your mod I can delete that will just use the original skyboxes?
Well, my main need for wanting it within gameplay is once I have a huge battle going and my empire is at the point where I don't need to micromanage too much. It would be nice to just sit back and watch my fleet wreak havoc in a movie-like fashion (also like the feature in Star Wars: Empire at War)
Is there any chance for a more advanced cinematic camera? It would be cool if pressing the button not only removed icons but would automatically switch angles and zoom into different ships to give the impression of watching a movie. Is there any chance for this in an official patch or maybe a mod?
Advanced cinematic camera that does this: 1. If any of your ships are in combat -Camera randomly and periodically switches zoomed in views of ships in combat -Camera randomly and periodically switches to a static zoomed in view facing the combat from various random angles 2. If none of your ships are in combat -Camera randomly and periodically switches zoomed in views of any of your ships -Camera randomly and periodically switches to a static zoome
From using the camera as a player, it seems that this wouldn't be too hard to implement (though I'm no game developer, so I could be wrong ;)) My thoughts is that it would work like this: 1. If any of your ships are in combat -Camera randomly and periodically switches zoomed in views of ships in combat -Camera randomly and periodically switches to a static zoomed in view facing the combat from various random angles 2. If none of your ships are in combat<br
Is there any chance for an epic moving cinematic camera being added by the devs? By that, I mean a camera that turns off the icons and stuff like the current cinematic camera but also automatically switches views and stuff. This way it kinda looks like you are watching a movie like what was done in Star Wars: Empire at War.
Did you think about this? If it launched at zero, everyone would sit there watching the countdown, then click like a madman in the last few seconds. The uncertainty is needed to prevent all kinds of lameness. You can't control pirates like an ebay auction - SHOCK HORROR! THEY'RE PIRATES! You *can* determine who it's going to be if you drop massive amounts of money. I dropped 20k on it near the start in a recent game, and the AI couldn't match that for hours (and only the
Yeah, I would definitely recommend the random maps. In those you usually start with 100% popularity on your home planet with 10 monies/second starting off. My first 2 games I lost too because I was playing premade maps that started me off at like 1 monies/second and 40% popularity...not very good for beginners X-(
Why don't the pirates launch their attack when the timer reaches zero? It works like an eBay auction except there is an ambiguous invisible time you can bid after the auction is supposed to close ;p This just makes pirates a little more frustrating because you never know when the pirates will decide who to attack and if this is a critical "auction" for you, you can't really do other things in your empire because the pirates take up the whole screen and you don't want to take your eye
Awesome, thanks dude! I made one myself from screenshots of the in-game keys, but this is much better!
