v0rt3x21, you can ask the AI to explicitly defend or attack a specific location if he is happy enough with you by selecting one of his planets or ships and clicking the appropriate button on the action grid. Otherwise, he may decide its not in his best interest to help you - he may have his own concerns and he definately has different priorities than you. Sometimes he will help, sometimes he won't so it's probably best to ask.
<

im kinda lost - some people flamed me for my post, others are agreeing - lol. Well I stand with my opinion - give us moving ships pls :)
I love the pirates, they are like a whole different player without all the Diplomacy.
I hope the AI gets a rewrite to account for or maybe I should say prioritize focused and split fire bonuses when doing single and multi fleet engagements.
yes same here. In my opinion its leaning a bit too much towards micro managing - the individual fights that is.
To me, the annoyance is how almost every time they're asking you to destroy something, and how easy it is to lose that favour you worked hard to get.
yes I highly agree - just because you see yourself unable to assist at that moment, you end up loosing a quarter / half of your ally's "friendship" or "trust" or whatever you wanna call it. Its a bit out of proportion and I've seen other threads discussing this in full
Yes I know :) I've done that - however - once the Ally AI was in that system - it stood still, thought about it for a moment, and then returned to other planets. :( I was just sort of "expecting" help from him, since he's my ally. Thanks for that. Which actually brings me to my next point: Loosing the ally status so quickly, in my opinion - if you do not fullfill his needs - is a bit harsh. I've seen other threads fully discussing this, and I'm not su
Many people are frustrated about it - and I hope it will be changed in the future, either by the developers or some "realism" mod. Please go away with your troll posts, I don't want another SupremeCrapmonder game.
It was my opinion - nothing more, nothing less. Perhaps the "realism" was a unfitting title for it - but as I have posted befor
Alright - we talked about Enemy AI - can we talk about Ally AI for a moment? In a 10 player game I was playing yesterday, which so far lasted 5 hours - my Ally keeps requesting me to help. I also keep hearing "I'm here to help!", however - the Ally is nowhere to be found! I found myself in a huge battle, with some Ally ships simply "dropping by to say hello" before they head off elsewhere! has anyone experienced this?
I have to agree with this annoyance - I was also playing with 10 players (by the way, I could use a cap raise on that - 15-20 players!) - and everyone is requesting things. Although I do see the benefit from it all - its more of an annoyance, and it REALLY sucks that you can't request resources from your allies.
Many people are frustrated about it - and I hope it will be changed in the future, either by the developers or some "realism" mod.
just what I said - awesome game play, OK Sound, OK Graphics. Developers: It was wise to make the game playable for everyone (those who don't have such a powerful machine) - but don't forget about the die-hard gamers out there! I'm not gonna say - DirectX10 Support - but if this would've been in the looks of Eve-Online :SURPRISED: Edit: BTW! Please change something about that map editor - something along the lines of WYSIWYG! Yes, I know I can preview, but I find myse
Sup - I'm a newbie to this Forum, but I've been reading and watching this site for some time now, waiting for Sins of a Solar Empire to release. I'm a die-hard Homeworld 2 Fan - and so I was very very excited about this project. Anyways - to make a long story short - I bought the game and got to play it! First impression: Very well done! Innovative gameplay, from the way I see it - BUT - and I must be fair on this - there are a few things which could have been better a
