also i think the devs have created a really interesting game world and i would like to see its story explored more. it kinda reminds me of the foundation series abit.

id love to have a single player campaign. it would be hard to pull off but if they could do it right it would be awesome. ideally i would like a campaign that expands the game world instead of warping you to another map. a good model of what im thinking of would be fire emblem 4. you play on different maps but you home base is the same for alot of the first half. i didn't like the galciv campaigns cause you had to do alot of the same thing over and over again.
sounds great but you should leave the fleet upkeep the way it is, maybe even increase it at the higher levels a bit since your going to have alot more worlds on larger maps, which require bigger fleets to defend.
i like to build 3 civ research centers as soon as possible, then extractors and scouts. after that i build a cap and start to expand, building as many trade posts and refineries as i can afford to.
i play TEC exclusively. in every strategy game i pick a faction and try to master it. i saw a video of the vasari and the voice annoyed me so i picked TEC. if the advent had been out when i started playing i would have used them but its too late no going back now.
i've seen similar post but skrew it, i lose my mind, and i'll do it again. anyway, i recently made a 10 player, 19 star map with about 500? planets, i think its more but after a certain point it doesn't matter anymore. it ran good at first but it has slowed down a bit, but considering the vast scope of this map a bit of slowdown is nothing. PS. there should be auto colonize/auto clear system options and planet development templates to make expansion on this scale more managable
fighter swarms are great but should not be relied on to win the battle. back your fighter spam with some heavy hitters ie. kols, LMRs and kodiaks. use them to disrupt and distract.
Bombers don't really care if it's a frigate or a battleship. They blow it all to hell.
theres your answer
let the enemy chase your capitals while your strikecraft tear them up. i like to set up a chain of movement orders from one side of the grav-well to the the other. this will save your hp and by the time they catch you half or more of them will either be destroyed or busy messing with your strikecraft. my main fleet usually consists of 1 akkan 2 dunovs(spelled wrong i think) and 2 kols. in addition to this i build about 30 to 40 light carriers and a mix of flak and javalis frigates. keep in mind
a swarm of bombers can kill just about anything.
though the frequency of attacks should be somewhat reduced.
i love the pirates!
i loved how the culture worked before. take a key world, build broadcasters and wait for the minor worlds to come over to your side. i thought it was a great way to make mopping up a dying empire less tedious. it was a bit too easy to do but they should have left it in.
can it travel?
nvm i got it
trying to make a multiplayer account and i don't know where it is
the way to do a sins campaign is to have a universe that starts small and gets bigger as you complete objectives. the reason i didn't like the galciv campaigns was because you keep moving from map to map and have to build up tech/infrastructure over and over again. storywise you could have a matrix of plot paths that change based on any number of things, how quickly you completed an objective, mission failure, completion of secondary objectives etc. and missions shouldn't be limited to just plan
GIANTS WIN!!!! NYC BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
based on beta 4 i think the ai is way too passive. i find i can get by with 1 uber fleet and a small defense fleet. the ai never seems to take advantage of my main fleet being several jumps away. also they don't go for my main worlds they seem to only attack adjacent planetoids even though i never use jump inhibitors. keep in mind i play on H. but as i sais this is based beta 4, i just hope the ai is decent in final release. but if it's not we always have multiplayer.
im in. ive been looking forward to playing online for awhile.
moon would be great. it would also be great if planetoids would really orbit the sun and moons orbit the planets.
scratch that, an akkan and 3 sovas loaded with bombers. the rest of the fleet is comprised of flak frigates and heavy cruisers.
ok i finally figured out where the irc chat thing is now how do i start games?
ask around, there are games going but a lot of them start up in the irc channel.
how do you connect to the irc channel?
