Hi there, So, I have been a Stardock customer for ages. You guys won me over with Sins of a Solar Empire and Demigod, back in the day... however, my Multiplicity experience has not been 100%... I upgraded from the Steam version to the KVM version a while back (thanks to Stardock for this ) - however, I have never been able to get the KVM functionality to work at all. All I get is a black screen and the solutio

Hi guys I've noticed that the copy of Multiplicity on Steam (where I initially purchased it) doesn't show up in my product key list on StarDock's site. I'd like to upgrade to Multiplicity KVM (from KM - and later on to Pro)... is this possible? Regards, Jus

Hi Stardock Must say I really enjoyed the game (with a couple of nitpicks... but hey); it really brought back the SC2 vibes... I eventually made peace with the lander mini-game... although I'm glad to hear its getting an overhaul. Does the whole DMCA-debacle influence the future for the sequel at all...? And the patches? (sorry meant to hit reply to <a title="Star Control Founders: Winter 2019" href="https://forums.starcontr

To add to my previous post (sorry, thought I was done and remembered one or three other things): * Fleet battles are awesome and done - please remove the power-ups though. Otherwise, you nailed it :) * The upgrade/market interface on the space station nees to match the UX of the rest of the game - it looks hacky swapping it around all of a sudden. * I also had some performance problems re. the lander missions - but honestly I think they should go... but if you

Hi guys So a bit of background after playing the VIP beta (skip to the TLDR below if you don't need the detail) I'm a little dissapointed... but still have high hopes. My favourite games from yesteryear are many, but the following stand out: * XCOM (especially Terror From The Deep) * Star Control 2 (I still pick up the Ur-Quan Masters from time-to-time) * Dune 2 * Dungeon Keeper 2 (maybe a bit later than the above) * All Sierra a

Manshooter... Dude, I'm one of the lurkers in the forums. In fact I have been lurking here for the last two years... Also, I'm a fairly dedicated lurker: I check the Sins front page as part of my daily site checks... I'm just not very interested in posting, since that would commit me to reply to the replies, and I generally only have time for a quick scan :) Unfortunately, I'm also one of the people that got let down by the lack of depth in Sins..
I feel the same. I really don't wanna fill upo my cpmputer's space with Impulse since it's only going to be for Sins. I really think there should be Impulse and then the normal downloadable patch we've had before.
I have limited internet access at home and although I've installed Impulse (mostly to see what's available), I'd prefer downloading the patch from the office (where I have unlimited internet access). And yes, I own a pre-ordered, legal copy of the game. <br/
Oh, Americans... I wish you people would stop worshiping the evil death god of the Bible.
There are three main streams of interpretation of the Bible... the Arminianists, the Calvinists and the Universalists. The Arminianists believe in a god that leaves us up to our own devices and will punish/reward us based on our own choices... Human history can support that that is not a good idea. The Calvinists believe in a god that pre-destines us to ei

That sounds awesome... star-bases are def on my wish-list :) This slightly concerns me though: 'And while the expansion will include a campaign--a feature sought by a large number of fans--Wardell was a bit less enthused. "I never play campaigns; they're just such a checkbox feature."' I'm very, very, very keen on a campaign... Although, as I've posted before, not the usual C&C linear campaign. I'd like to see an event-driven campaign on one big map... or a collection of scenar

Uzii Just thought I'd drop in to say nice work! I've been toying with the idea of starting a 4X mod, but your mod already gives Sins a a very improved 4X vibe... so I haven't bothered yet :)
Is it 4X? Yes and no. Is it RTS? Yes and no.
My gut says... maybe :)
Indeed! The fact that this conversation can even take place, IMHO, is a feat in itself. I couldn't have this conversation about StarCraft or Age of Empires (clearly RTS games) nor could I have it about MOO2 or GalCivII (clearly 4X games).
Agreed :)
Just when I think mankind is starting to rise up from the murky recesses of stupidity and arrogance
hehe... Found it a bit funny... Individuals may, but mankind as a whole will never do that. We've had a pretty good run, but all we've done is run in circles. On the main topic... casual gamers vs competitive gamers. I've played my share of MP Star Craft and have experienced my share of Zerg rushes (and Protoss carrier rushes).

So yes... another 4X vs RTS thread. At least its official. Nice to see some constructive comments for a change... hope I can contribute to that, with a nearly-coherent post :) In any case... I have to agree, I was kind-of hoping for more of an empire-building RTS. In fact, I came across the game while investigating Disciples 3 and GalCiv 2... I ended up holding out for Sins (mostly because Disciples seemed at the time to be vapourware, and GalCiv2 in real-time REALLY intrigued me :) ).<
Uh, yes, yes I have. The most stars I have seen thus far is five, with an obscene number of planets in a non-spherical format, interspersed much like stars would be in a galaxy, and each planet orbited by a small, random number of planetoids, much like planets would be doing around stars.
A nice solution would be a dotted line that indicates the circular orbits of the planets around the stars... I've seen a couple of posts on this and even though I don't m
Ok... this is a Great Game
Agreed...
1. Diplomacy: This NEEDS a huge rework, its terrible no matter how you look at it.
Maybe not a huge rework...but some tweaks and the ability to give the AI missions would be great...
2. Minor Races: Why not have planets that you colonize have minor races living on the plantes, these minor races could possibly contribute a bonus to your empire, you could also go back to diplom

You have to remember... this is a 4X RTS... the whole point behind it is building (and hopefuly keeping) your empire, but in real-time... I love C&C... in fact, after pre-ordering and finishing the game i've been playing C&C3 (skirmishes) constantly for the last couple of months. However, a similar type of campaign just won't work here... it will take away the whole "epic" 4X element that attracted most of us to this game in the first place. That said... a story that advances w

I have to agree with Naoza... I don't necessarily agree with his solution (its late, and I don't really the energy to think about it at the moment :) ). ...yes, it will make the game drag on longer, but what is the point of playing a 4X empire-building game, if you can't really build an empire? I guess I'm biased, because I'm a turtler...but that's one of the things that drew me to this game in the first place :)

Howzit guys... been lurking on the forum for quite a while now, but don't usually have time to participate, so I didn't bother... finally felt it was time though... sorry for the long post, but its been a long-time coming :) Be warned, I really over-use smileys and three dots (...) I've been pretty much following the development of the game since April 2007...and so far, I love it. To the devs: I'm a developer, so I know what went to into this game (more or less) technically...
