Well, in the context of this game, the races dont exactly like each other all that much. Considering that, it makes since why mass genocide is the only option. Really it is human nature. Humans will do just about anything to survive.
True, races don't like each other that much, but even for strategic and tactical purposes, sometimes I'd rather take a planet mostly unscathed, with its planetary developments intact or with minor dam

It was down :-P . Subsequent books are written in a very different, more philosophical tone, some of them being better than others, but all in all I would definitely recommend the whole saga. Regarding the original topic, I'd say that the scale of "The Game" in the book would be somewhere between Sins and Homeworld, more akin to the latter. He did not manage the logistics of the troop movements to the front line, if it can be so called, but the tactics of the engagement. "Micro-managem

Nothing new, but just to show support for the idea: tweak PJIs somehow to make them more effective, make planets harder and orbital defenses more effective. All in all, like someone said before, improve the chances of successfully defend planets without fleets. Loving the game already, though...

I'd say that Silverthief's original idea seems pretty neat. When you fire your superweapon, PJIs have a cooldown period large enough to let a fleet cross the system. Again, PJIs should only work between player-owned planets to allow retreating fleets. This could be coupled with a limit to the amount of PJIs that can be set, both per planet (one per planet would make sense), and a total count perhaps based on the total number of systems owned. This is a mix of Silverthief's ideas and others I rea

Yes man, I want to read more! Reading things like this make my own battles more epic. Keep up the good work!
The one thing I do think this game is missing right now is some type of ground invasion of a planet. Maybe that's much more likely for an expansion than a patch, but speaking as someone who is quite used to seeing ground invasions take place in 4X games, I would love to see Sins incorporate something like that, rather than having to go to the trouble of bombing a planet to death.
I agree, I think that right now the effects of bom
Other than that, the warp inhibitors should really be a bit more.. well.. inhibiting.. Say they should at least prevent phase jumping through star lanes fully taken by your culture. This would make it an additional incentive to build those broadcast stations.
That is a good idea IMO. Anyway, I also think that a somewhat limited interdiction ship might add some more depth to big fleet-to-fleet battles, since you would need to

Ok, here are a couple of ideas: It would be interesting to be able to somehow tag grav wells as "impassable" by auto-generated paths. For instance, when I want a frigate factory to resupply one of my fleets a couple of jumps away, I set the rally point of that factory wherever I want my new ships to be delivered. However, the auto-generated path that my new ships will follow to reach my fleet sometimes happens to cross a pirate-owned sector, crawling with baddies. Depending on the type

Well, up to now there is something I don't like about the situation: It's tuesday! I wish I could enter some sort of cryo-stasis or something till friday afternoon hehe. No, really, I spent about 5 hours yesterday with a single player small random map, and I'm loving almost every bit of it. There will probably be a couple of things that can be improved, but so far this game is already, like someone said before, the first real strategy game that plays in 3D. And another thing I love about it

Come on stoned, this was supposed to be a thread dedicated to the appraisal of those who made it possible for us to play the great game Sins surely is. I am sure that they want you to have your game just as much as you do. After all, it is customer satisfaction and the support for further products they might produce what is at stake for them, while for you it is just a little wait. Besides, if you are somehow unhappy about distribution channels or procedures, I am sure there is a better place an

It's perfect ;-) . And very good attempt at spanish, Craig ;-) . I am in the same position as you are, Quimi79, and all I can tell you is that I already pre-ordered and I am holding my breath right now, hoping for that so much desired e-mail to hit mi inbox hehe. Besides, I work from home several days a week, and this is one such day, so I am compulsively hitting the receive button. Greetings from sunny Spain, and congrats to devs & publishers yet again for what is surely going to be on
