Against the CPU defenses can be used effectively because you can trick the CPU to follow your ships into the heart of your turret clusters, greatly increasing the damage done to the enemy fleet. The one thing I do think this game is missing right now is some type of ground invasion of a planet. Maybe that's much more likely for an expansion than a patch, but speaking as someone who is quite used to seeing ground invasions take place in 4X games, I would love to see Sins incorporate something like that, rather than having to go to the trouble of bombing a planet to death.
I hope everyone is geared up for the release of Sins. I preordered the game last week and can't wait, particularly after being annoyed for so long trying to get into Sword of the Stars, only to be constantly bothered by the star map that looked like someone just threw confetti onto my screen. But I digress.. Really looking forward to a good 4X space game. It's been far too long.
