The only thing is, now the AI is surrendering a lot earlier and when they aren't clearly beat. There should be an option to allow for that...some of us actually do like to mop up a little more.
To this I would answer that the AI should "offer" its surrender, which I could refuse because I want to glory in its miserable demise :-) After that initial offer the AI shouldn't ask again, but I as the user can now deman

Here's an idea: have the AI continue to play to the bitter end, but a player can "demand" a surrender at any time. If the AI has reached the current threshold at which it's surrendering (which is too early for some), then the AI will give in. Otherwise, the AI can say "screw you" and continue to fight. That way players could actually control when the AI surrenders, making everyone happy.
(Ooops - forum gave me a 500 error for the first post, so I posted again)
Let me guess: Stardock's game division is thrilled to be bought by EA, to be run as an autonomous subsidiary?

Mines would be an awesome addition! Of course, we'd also need minesweepers in addition to minelayers...
The enhancement list is exciting. In addition to toggling pirates on/off for a given game, can the raid interval be adjusted (i.e., every x minutes, or for the truly sadistic/masochistic among us, every x to y minutes)?
I have the same experience with n 512 Mb nVidia 7950GTX. I have no mods.
For single player, it would nice to have a glorious ending when you win - especially after 5+ hours playing, and numerous and possibly just-completed glorious space battles of epic scale. How about adding three (instrumental) anthems - one for each side. When you win, you get to hear your race's anthem, possibly with a bit of a slideshow portraying the greatness of the home planet. You can skip the anthem with ESC, of course. But after a long hard match, it sure would be nice
I've had the same experience as 24fps. The above tips are awesome :-)
There are many complaints about games taking too long - but have you noticed no-one seems to remember there's a "Save" option to take up the game the next day...? ;) And yes, I haven't used the "Save" option either. Congrats to Ironclad in building a game that sucks you in and doesn't let you go that easily! There's much to be studied about the game dynamics, and I think the devs should hold off on too many changes just because of initial whinings. Otherwise, Sins will merel
Indeed, a bounty war can be disasterous if you get up to 10K-20K and you end up losing the bid. Your system becomes solid red... :-(
Thanks, Annatar11, for the tips. When I read (finally) the manual last night, I realized that one should use the pirates as yet another weapon against other players. Bump up the bounty and let the pirates do your dirty work for you. The nice thing about pirates is that the Underground screen will tell you *exactly* when they'll hit you next if you're at the top of the bounty list.
It's sort of like when a game is released in the US, and Canada gets it several days later, right...? ;)
Live and learn, I guess ;)
Warzone 2100 was indeed awesome :)
I, too, would like to know the same :D
