I actually had a fort Ai put up 6 hanger defense in his homeworld, backed up by 4 cruiser carriers. Needless to say, it forced me to actually build some flak frigates.

Vista sucks. Remove it like you remove adware.
[quote]I'd like to see an AI partner/s that actually work. You rarely get assistance when needed and there is no way to co-ordinate attacks when playing with an AI team mate. Quite frankly the AI teams are a total waste of space and development time and need some serious love to make them worth while otherwise there is just no incentive to play single player on the larger maps. Diplomacy is also broken to the point of uselessness. When playing with unlocked teams, unless i'm seriously m
--Ive watched an AI vs AI fight where a bunch of smaller ships had an AI capital ship down to 11 hullpoints, but then they broke off to attack a colony pod that warped in, so the 11HP capital ship slinked off to fight another day. Maybe tweek the AI a bit so that if a ship is close to dying, they keep on it. --When watching replays you cant pause the game to get a nice screenshot if you want, thatd be nice to be able to do. --AI needs to research more. --Find a way to
Im wondering, if you try to phase somewhere else, and you have it on group phase, do they just sit there then and wait for that guy? or do they ignore him like he doenst exist?
The whole idea of immobile space defense turrets seems kinda silly to me. Thinking realisticly and practically, id doubt any race would defend a planet that is 360 degrees of open come and get me with a bunch of immobile turrets.
strange, ive never had that happen to me yet...that or ive never noticed. Also I hope they fix the cruiser carrier AI in fleets, so that they stay back and not dive right into the middle of the action to get blown up. I got a great screen of 2 fleets going at it with both there sets of crusier carriers on the front lines.
maybe they run low on cash because they are building all those dang lowbie frigates.. =P. I actually had the AI get another AI capital ship down to 11 hitpoints left, and then a colony ship warped it, and they ALL turned away from the capital ship and went after the colony ship on the other side of the gravity well, the 11 hitpoint ship slinked away to fight another day....i was like ouch..i hope they fix that someday. Shouldnt be too hard...just add a few lines saying if the ship is
Yea they love the low unit spam. I got into a pretty intresting brawl with a Fort Ai though. Its home planet had no less then 6 hanger bays and he had a ton of those cruiser carriers (i can count 9 from the screenshot i have), and 2 capital carriers, it was like holy crap fighter bomber spam when i warped into his home planet. So they do build defense, just..it seems only the Fort AI does it. Man that fight was hella fun though, dozens of fighter/bomber wings on both sides while the big
I always thought itd be nice if they had some sort of defensive structure that slows enemy movement speed within your gravity well. Only problem is howd you work around the idea that only their ships go slower and yours dont? Maybe make it a turret like thing that shoots a ship and for an amount of time its slowed by 50%? Itd definally slow down those damn blockade runners that the AI likes to do.
so uh...i dont get what you are saying.... 2 players beating 1 is unfair? or uh..what?
You have to add in the cost of the training of more crews as well with those capitals. Its kinda funny taking out somebodys capitals when they are trying to do that rush, and watch them exit the game. I actually spied one guy doing it early, built up for him to come to me, he warped in..looked at my fleet, and just left the game...ticked me off. People that do that stuff are cheap.
The Running isnt too bad when you outnumber them, but when its an even match and the battle could go either way depending on who commands better and the AI runs, that is what pisses me off. Like for example the AI will have 4-5 capitals and a bunch of frigates, and ill warp in with almost the exact same match or even slightly less, and then will turn tail and run.. the AI is way too conservative with its calculations on when to run. I had a large group of 6 AI capitals run from a fleet
I like the game the way it is. Im sick of units in RTS and other games being just total throw aways once they are im combat, not lasting more then a second or two at beast. This non-caring, meat grinder type ACTION stuff never really belonged in strat games in the first place, but somehow has become the norm. Tanks in C&C 3 dont even last more then a second or two under focused fire. Its nice to see a change of pace, back to long lasting units that actually get to sometimes se
Im happy this game is slower, and the units actually last more then a half a second in battle. Im so sick of all the twitch fast games out there that try to pawn themselves off as a "strat" game when there isnt any strats at all in battle because your units are dying faster then you can even click on them. Im sick of the meat ginder games. I mean take C&C3 for example...the tanks actually had an option to reverse to keep the heavy "armor" forward...HA! how many people actually used that
Thanks Star. Im kinda screwed by living out in the middle of nowhere. I dont feel like driving 50+ miles to get a game, and the fastest internt out here is horrible. So either way sucks. im getting around 35KB a second, which is about normal for this "fastest" internet. Can you believe i play 58.99 a month for it too? Insane.... Anyways its 60% complete now. i started the DL at around 3:30pm. Here it is 8PM. At least this DL manager saves your spot, because id die of it cut out
I wonder what im doing wrong. 34KB a second MAX. Usually it hovers close to 15.
Since i live in the middle of nowhere, even the fastest net is extremely slow. So im downloading right now at a kick butt 25KB I started the download at 330, at 430pm it was at 15%. So estimated time is about 6 hours 45 minutes overall.
