If you want to play on huge maps that feel like a galaxy then just download this mod.... https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/375952 Maps with multiple systems, connected systems, minor factions (very close to the militia concept being thrown around) and various other goodies. Why bother complaining to get something that already exists?

The main reason currents SW mods don't use death stars are: 1. Really big things don't work too well when warping into systems. Often get crashes when warping into asteroid systems and ending up stuck inside the asteroid. The common solution has been to reduce the scale of everything/expand size of gravity wells so that in comparison, ships like the executor look large. 2. You can't actually blow up planets, its hard coded into the game. The most you could do it give it a real

Err, the only games that have weekly patches are those that are in such a state of mess as to require nonstop patching. Outside MMO's no company keeps patching games for years, and certainly not at the rate you mention. If you want continued fixing and balancing for any game, you'll need to look at the modding community. Distant Stars fixes a lot of the balancing issues, and the Sins Optimization Project fixes constant minidumps due to RAM limits being exceeded. <p

There is one in the works already led by Haiyoo and they're actually looking for people to help out. He's got permission from CCP to use their assets already. Specifically, "What I need is people who want to write .ent files for the ships and effects, make the research trees, and once the Caldari are complete help with the next races." https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/389504/pa

I can't answer 1, since it depends on the changes made by this mod and the mod you want to stack it with. Aplos would have to tell you exactly what files he's modified. However for question 2, song is "Comptine d'un autre été: L'après-midi" by Yann Tiersen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFLF-gh4C2M Most of the music is instrumentals from movies/famous classical

The main mod isn't out, but for those interested in his minimods, ManSh00ter released Dynamic Movement 1.0. Current works only with entrenchment. Space stations aren't too bad, I think ~300 supply points worth of ships will do it. They're basically just half upgraded starbases. As aplos suggesed, stuns work wonders on em. Or if you're Dark Remnants, the droids work very well vs those drones. Well at least in 2.01 =D Here's a megaupload mirror for 2.1 in case any of those other links are down. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=11ZB70AC </

Glad to see you back Aplos! I'm glad to be of help distributing this mod! In case you're trying to keep track, the Megaupload file has has been dl'ed 237 times so far. You'll also be glad to know I haven't found any major gameplay bugs either in ~25 hrs spent so far. I don't know for others, but the game has also been very stable for me. I am on a high end gaming rig though (i5-750 @3.8ghz and xfire 5850's). At the least, this probably means no programming glitches causing min

If you bothered to read before you post, you'll find the link on this very page.

Any details on what you were doing when it crashed? It's really hard to figure out bugs w/o a minidump and log or more details. There were a couple big bugs aplos fixed in 2.01 but they were more gameplay bugs. Crash wise, it's been pretty stable for me over ~20hrs of play.

Are you running at highest settings? If so, you might be running into the 2gb of RAM automatic minidump issue.

Well until Aplos fixes link or unless he wants me to take it down, here's a megaupload link to 2.0 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IA1FUA3T the 2.01 update works fine so I won't link that for now.

Looks like DL is working fine again. Guess filefront had some issues. Kyuuseishu, my guess is that Aplos integrated the Powerful pirates mod from Distant Stars into this. Pirate planets are tough, but by no means impossible to take out. You'll will need a good 800-1000 supply points worth of well upgraded ships though.

Remnants are pretty interesting. I definitely like their sentinel and cruiser abilities much better than the vanilla. They're actually useful, haha. Cap ship's are a bit harder to judge, well, to be blunt, anything besides the whale isn't worth the money (not that this isn't true in vanilla). However in this case, it's simply that the drone spawning abilities are just too good. It's simply too easy to rapidly spawn ton's of drone's. Throw in a few heavy cruisers to tank,

First off, I'd like to say this mod is very nice and the new maps are wonderful to play. I think they really bring back a feel of just how huge space is, something I've found missing in the vanilla game, too used to big systems with ton's of planets =P I've got a couple comments/questions though: - The advent resource focus technology is um interesting. I've noticed that it drastically increases the mineral output. I took a asteroid with 3 crystal extractors and

Wow that masticator looks like a lot of polys, (besides looking awesome of course). If by resource extractor you mean trade ship equivalent, then I do hope you incorporate Major Stress's optimization mod! https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/378149 Keep the updates coming [e digicons]\o/[/e]

Yea, starrfoxx like harpo said, make sure you have the 1.041 compatable version of mod dled and installed. Also, V1.04 =/= V1.041, they are different versions of the game, and the updated mod will not work with entrenchment 1.04 (gotta love software naming schemes). Onlymaestro, it looks like you don't actually have DBS running. Make sure you have entrench 1.041, the 1.041 compatible version of DBS and that you actually click the apply changes but

Noble and star. You must run Manshooter's volumetric 1.2, 1.041 compatible version with DBS. Also, DBS MUST be last ie on the bottom of the load order on the mods page. So make sure you have volumetric load first, then DBS. This will solve the issue. Basiaclly, without Volumetric 1.2 1.041 compatible enabled AND loading before DBS, the game will minidump any time either a player or AI attemps to access a capital ship's colonize ability.
