Mm, but if we're to complain, even the Advent is lacking in the Destra Crusader voice department. I think the captain's having a bit of trouble with the word "desecraters." Vasari, especially they're scouts, definitely annoy me, voice-wise. Which is unfortunate, because I think they have the best story of the three factions. What they need is a greater amount of regal tone - they are a fallen might, and even ten thousand years after their collapse they still feel that they are the sole

But pitting a race versus another faction of the same race? How would that play in? The lore - what unfortunately little there is of it - doesn't seem to have any reason for intrafaction hostilities, and by the same token there is no definite animosity between Vasari and Advent. Goodness, if we're to pull the "lore" card, shouldn't each faction start with more than just a homeworld? Shouldn't there not be pirates? Shouldn't most of the tech tree already be explored? I don't think the lore of Sin

Wow, suddenly that ability sounds useful! Does the Progenitor need to have been in the well when the capital ship died? Because otherwise that gives me yet more incentive to use Progenitors. Ben

Oh, come on - that's a lousy excuse. We know it will end up in war, but I agree that in an free-for-all, we should not start at 0% happiness with everyone. 50% and ceasefires, or maybe a little bit less, would be nice. This is a game of strategy - we don't shoot on sight, but rather backstab when we are sure of a win. Ben

Bailknight: I'm terribly sorry I haven't thanked you yet. This mod is outstanding, and makes playing the game an even more beautiful experience. I especially like what you did with the Advent weapons and abilities - Cleansing Brilliance in particular is amazing. The strong and vibrant blues make playing or fighting Advent a given in any game I play now. Your new ship designs look great! While I would greatly appreciate a new faction, those meshes overriding the TEC ships would be fine w

While I'm not big on the modding scene, a friend of mine has expressed interest in making a mod where more ships constantly move in combat like the strikecraft do. Personally, I'm a big fan of this idea, because watching fleets stand still is not quite my idea of epic - Sins battles look much more awesome when fleets are on the move. However, we can't seem to find where the code that differentiates strikecraft movement from other ships' is, which is obviously hampering our attempts to see why th

These people don't seem to be telling you how to load it. In the load menu, there should be a tab called "Change Game Save Type" or somesuch, which will revolve through normal saves, autosaves, multiplayer saves, etc. Have fun finishing that game! Ben

Space Ponies are still eluding me. I'm really starting to get aggravated, as that 98% sign mocks me each time I see it. Every time I think I know how to find the damn equines, they aren't there! Ben

A big part of the diplomacy issue, though, is that you can't get your AI buddies to do anything for you besides not kill you, trade with you, or send insignificant forces to place you ping. The AI diplomacy could include requests you make to them so allying is more than just stalling an enemy's expansion against you. Ben

The iambic pentameter is fun, but a bit wonky. Most people don't say "stressING" or "DEStroyING," and the cadence of "needs TO go Up in FLAMES" really ought emphasize the "needs" and "go," as well as "flames." My suggestion: We're stressing now about one point oh-three/While mini dumps destroy our epic games/We get so far as four and a half hours/Instead of playing Sins we all are sour/The mini dumps, right now, must burst in flames! But sonnet cadence is, indeed, the

Yikes, sorry for insulting the DE. I just feel that, compared to planet nuking or orbit disabling, the "culture bonus" rarely seems to take hold, especially in the endgame, when your enemy consolidates their capital ships at the planet you want to convert. I love taking planets via culture - last night I beat my friend by taking a couple of his key worlds in that way. The DE, however, doesn't seem very adept at it. This Shield Wall doesn't even have to take the experimental weapon slot

Last night a couple friends and I were talking about the nature of RTSs. One of them suggested that obstacles in traditional RTSs such as walls or trees or whatnot were an effective part of strategy, seeing as they made unit position management a necessity for good play. While I don't think that such a level of micromanagement would be a good idea, I realized that having a giant wall in space would really rock. Instead of the Advent's Deliverance Engine - a device that is far from user fr

More than 1 vs. 1, I'd suggest for your first game to do a 2 vs 1: you and an easy or medium AI vs an easy one. You can watch to see what they pit against each other, have an ally to draw enemy fire, and still have an easy enemy to experiment with. Ben

Killing pirates and pilots today, I reached 97% of the achievements earned, leaving but Space Ponies! and Resource Opportunist. I believe I know how I would get the former (but feel free to spoil it if you know), but I'm confused about how I would "Gain 15,000 Credits from other players buying up your resources." As far as I can tell, the AI just buys straight from the Black Market - as would other players in a multiplayer game. Has anyone achived this, and if so, can you give advice? Clo

Yeesh, this is an angry thread. I commend the people who have acted civilized here, and those with open minds. I don't think people are asking for refunds or free games. Personally, I feel that rolfski has a point. I hate trying out demos of games that have a time limit. The fact that it's a limit per game makes this a whole lot more attractive - having an "expired" game on your computer is really, really lame - but atill, I think removing a majority of the game features from the demo w
Great - you're one of the few people who seem to back up their arguments But the thing is, can you suggest an improvement? For example, how might they go about deepening planetary development without ruining the RTS part of the game? Remember that the devs wanted to keep as much depth as possible, so if they could put more depth into planetary development and ship design, they would. But how?In other words, it's easy to criticize (we all do it), but can one be constructive?
<b
