Working the 10 to 7 shift sucks I want to be able to play dammit.. Got question anyone really good at trouble shooting that would help me out when i get home around 9pm central time and maybe troubleshoot my system and help me get sins to actually run or maybe tomorrow morning.
During the days of DAOC when it came out if you hit the windows key it would crash your game because it didn't support alt tabbing. So we tore off the key all together solved the problem.
So this patch just came out today? wonder if it will fix my black screen issue

i got nothing to do while i'm at work and since my game is still f'ed up since my format. Haven't had to trouble shoot it much and no one seems to have a fix for the black screen.
No matter how much you argue its still a connection issue on your end. But what do we know im sure most of us don't got 612 meg download speeds. I'm on dsl at my house and i go from 300-385 kbs so maybe your provider is ripping you off on your internet service.
Ive played just about every different strat game out there this game is a fun one its alot different but well worth the money if you like a game that is in depth and takes a while to complete. And has no real rsuhing factor other then the pirate issue.
Amen i don't know any where you can get a download speed of 612 mb a sec. And why would you pay that much for a service for internet if you are playing games? Thats a bit over excessive don't you think if it actually dled that fast.
It has to be some setting for it to be going that low. Something isn't communicating correctly but its probably neither your connection or star docks its just something isn't communicating the way its suppose to. I would try different server and make sure nothing would be conflicting with it.
Um most people have been downloading over 300kb a sec maybe your connection sucks?
I havent added anything to my game other then just downloading it from star dock. Still nothing working for me.
the thing is i dont get whys its crashing before i formatted it worked fine. The only thing i did was install the most updated drivers for my video card once i formatted. Also having some sound card issue stuff but im pretty sure its not the cause of why the game wont even launch.
i cant seem to find my mini dump files no matter where i look any help finding them would be nice. I have tried everything people suggest and i still haven't got my stuff to run. I think this is the first time ever ive had a problem installing a game.
where do i go to to turn the video stuff to false like which file do i need to find in the directory
Yeah its always been that way ive never had it auto setup the crap but it could be that my sound card went bad in the past day or two was working fine before the formatt. Wasnt sure if this could affect why my game wont even boot just goes to that dam black screen. Was weird ive never in 5 years had the sound driver option greyed out or a pc not recognize my sound card.
So i formatted my xp yesterday and weird thing is i use a sound card instead of my onboard and ive always had to install the sound drivers for my sound blaster. Thing is when i looked today it showed that my sound options had drivers but it isnt recognizing my card and sound options is greyed out in the control pannel. ALso installed sins and couldnt find the user.settings file or the location of my mini dumps im redownloading now and installing but i feel going to hae the same problem as befo

I didn't say i was or that the devs are bad but once you got a grasp of the game you can beat it anything can be beaten. I'm sure with as many people having problems as there are that there is a problem but you can still beat them. Alot of people are just giving up because its happening. So i said learn to beat the the computer. I would hope that a RTS developer knows and is an experienced RTS player for as there making a RTS game. If you don't know much about RTS and aren't experienced in them i would be on a team making one IMO. If i owned a company and my people don't know have a good concept of games and know alot about them i wouldn't want them working for me making a game that cost $$$ money.
I have played a game or two for about an hour or so and havent encountered the mass siege ship spam either. Maybe the computer just doesn't like some of its players ? Maybe its punishment for you spamming units in other rts games who knows. Learn to beat the piss out of the computer and if your not an experienced rts game player this game isnt the best to really learn on. Go get a easier game :)
I called my ebgame here in missouri and they said unless some one preordered it then werent going to get it in which is funny because ebgames/gamestop same thing called both and gamestop is listed on places to buy. Could be the employees were just retarded though which is what im counting on. i just got the digi download much simpler.
Yeah i cant think of what might be causing it. The only thing that is different for me now is I updated my vid card drivers. Possible i was using my actual sound card instead of my on board sound before i formatted might be something ill have to check again since that and my video card drivers might be the only difference. So weird that it worked perfect the first time except for my dam hard drive boot failure error.
