There is a solid [link="http://www.soasewiki.com"]SoaSE wiki[/link] already set up - anyone can add a "mods" section to that and get going. I'm not so sure we'll get one set up officially by Stardock or Ironclad.

I hadn't realized you did this against humans! I tried it out last night against 3 normal AI's in locked-team FFA to much less stellar results :NOTSURE:

Regarding how you can counter Guardians from the TEC standpoint. Stock up on the light frigates, and research the anti-antimatter ability. They will eat right through the Iconus antimatter, leaving them useless. Toss in a few Cielo Cruisers additionally in [u]any[/u] anti-Advent fleet, as Astax mentioned. Their Focus Fire ability helps against the Advent's heavy shielding.

I follow the same general process as others have outlined. Two small changes, though: 1) I build two Civic research buildings asap, to research volcanic and ice planet colonization. I also either research the trade center building, which dramatically increases your cash flow early on (TEC don't need any more buildings, Vasari & Advent need to build a 3rd). 2) I use pirates as free training for new cap ships. Because pirates attack the closest, richest planet, I park my new c

I haven't really seen much on the Anti-Fight Escort counter, so I'll chime in. I find myself using carriers heavily in the late game - they are by [u]far[/u] the best tool against planetary defenses (none of them can even target strike force ships). Every carrier heavy fleet also gets a small squadron of the Long Range Assault frigates (Illuminators/LRM/etc). I sic the long range frigates on the anti fighter escorts at the very beginning. After they've been taken out, my strike force

I think the [link="http://www.soasewiki.com/"]SoaSE wiki[/link] would be a great place for these details. There are individual [link="http://www.soasewiki.com/index.php/Ships"]ship pages[/link], as well as a section for [link="http://www.soasewiki.com/index.php/Strategies_%26_Tactics"]strategies & tactics[/link]. So far it only has complete information on the Capital Ships, but fans are adding more content every day.

Aye, the missions can be extremely painful. Especially when they try to send you over to the opposite end of the galaxy, to destroy ships and structures from an empire you haven't even met yet. The SoaSE wiki has a small piece on [link="http://www.soasewiki.com/index.php/Missions#Avoiding_Missions"]avoiding missions[/link] if you're interested. It recommends playing through with the AI set on "Locked Teams" - you will never be able to wipe out [B]all[/B] of the other empires if you gi

The SoaSE wiki has information from all the in-game tooltips [link="http://www.soasewiki.com/index.php/Ships#Capital_Ships"]for all of the Capital Ships[/link]. Click through to the individual ship, and in turn to the abilities. The wiki is off to a great start for a game that's only been around a week. Multiple trade centers will generate more trade drones, but the cash they generate is dependent on how far they travel. So building a second center on the farthest edge of your link of trade route will give you more benefit than building a duplicate in the middle. In general though, it is better to build 1 platform around an adjacent planet rather than building a second at an existing planet. I've no clue about broadcast towers.

You post cuts right to the heart of it Ex0du5 - it's up to all of us in the community to share our successful (and unsuccessful) strategies and tactics. Some folks have been doing so through the forums. Another option is to share your expertise in an outside venue. I strongly encourage you to share you thoughts on what does and doesn't work on the [link="http://www.soasewiki.com/index.php/Strategies_&_Tactics"]Stragegies and Tactics section of the SoaSE wiki.[/link] You don't need to

It is a difficult challenge, Spartan, as different Wiki's can address different needs. I've honestly never seen a game that only had one Wiki, and in my experience it has actually been helpful to the overall accessibility of information. Mass Effect, for instance, has the [link="http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Mass_Effect_Wiki"]Wikia page[/link], as well as a [link="http://completemasseffect.com/index.php?title=Mass_Effect"]standalone wiki[/link]. Both are well done and valuable.<br/

Thanks again Archpsi - those screenshots were perfect. We still don't have the detailed information about skill progression, but these will at least allow us to get the idea of what the skill accomplishes. I combined all the information from the manual and those screenshots in the [link="http://soasewiki.com/index.php/Ships#Capital_Ships"]SoaSE Wiki[/link]. There's still a lot more reference material needed, though - so please feel free to create an account and contribute to what will

[quote]sinsofasolarempire.wikia.com[/quote] Brilliant! I, for one, will be sure to contribute once it's available. Primarily because, like you, I need a good reference to peruse while "working" ;) Please post here when the wikia's available - I see it still hasn't been created yet.

[quote]... anti-matter cost. Can someone explain that in a little more detail and how you gain it. [/quote] Antimatter is the "fuel" for special abilities you can activate (passive abilities don't require any antimatter). Phase lane jumping also drains antimatter (the Advent, at least, have some research that reduces the amount used). By default, antimatter regenerates slowly over time. Some ships have the ability to steal or regenerate antimatter in other ways, and research

Queuing does seem to be a large part of the game. Here are some places I've found (some) information regarding what's queued: [B]Research [/B]- On the main UI (not the separate research UI), hover over the research button at the top of the screen. The tooltip will show you the research you have queued - in order - as well as the % complete for the current research. [B]Ships [/B]- On the main UI, hover over the fleet capacity indicator at the top of the screen. This tooltip w

Thank you Archsi for those screenshots - they are going to be very useful, I'm sure. And thanks Hackbar for the manual thread link. That will be another valuable resource. Although there have been some changes since it was compiled for Beta 4 (e.g. the Phase Jump Inhibitors and complete lack of the Advent faction), the general tips and strategies still seem to be valid. I'll keep my eye out on the forums for notices that those more detailed guides are available. I'm sure they
