I should probably point out that the path is C:\Users\[Insert account name here]\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\ for Vista and C:\Documents and Settings\[Insert account name here]\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\

In the folder before the save game folder there is a "setting" folder. Open that, there is a achievements.achievements file in there. I haven't tried it but I think that is the file you need to copy.

From time to time my game suddenly starts stuttering like crazy, It goes from a solid 60 to 5 FPS. This happen completely randomly, it is not the message stutter (see [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=408&aid=175638#1453463"]WWW Link[/link]). I have tried lowering my settings but there was no difference. I have also tried both the standard Nvidia driver and the Beta drivers but there is no difference there either. Well my bank has a E-Card service so I get a new Visa card number every time I order something so I am at least protected against someone hijacking my card number. Besides, if you notice that someone is charging your card you can always initiate a charge back. If he is worried that someone might steal his card number he can always get a second card that is kept empty until you want to purchase something over the net, just remember to remove the credit option. Thats what most of
by the way, when you say the text file, can .txt files replace .entity files in the game for the mods to work?
A dev have said the game can do just that. The reason for the binary encoding is that it is much quicker for a computer to read a binary encoded file compared to a ASCII encoded file so the load time will increase slightly if you are playing a very large mod.
Checking the .entity file, LRMs do ANTIMEDIUM. But, yeah. Fighters > LRMs (they do 2x damage vs them, whereas bombers only do 0.5x).
Is there any in-game way to see what type of damage a ship does or will we have to compile a cheatsheet for it?
I've found mid to late game most animations dont work for me, like attacking (firing weapons, shooting etc) dont work most times aswell as the phase jump animation (blue portal thing...) and then my ships didnt explode properly... they would remain there before turning into little pieces xD.
Go to C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting and open user.setting with notepad. Change MaxParticleCount to something higher. <br

If you are using Galaxy Forge you can not save your maps in the Galaxy folder using the Galaxy Forge if you have installed the game under the Program Files folder. If you do that Vista will move the file to the "Compatibility folder", see [link="http://www.hanselman.com/blog/VistasShowCompatibilityFilesAndTheScrumptiousWonderThatIsFileVirtualization.aspx"]WWW Link[/link] for a explanation. Go to the Galaxy folder and click the "Show Compatibility Files" button, h

I had that problem too so I emailed Stardocks support
Hi, Sins of a Solar Empire does not require any activation. If you have downloaded this game through either Stardock Central (recommended so that all updates will become available to you right away) or through CD you should not be required to activate the product at all. Only until new content updates are made available will the game require activation. Please let me know if you have further troubles.<br

Select the Fleet marker, hold shift (I think it was that button) and select the ships you want to add to the fleet. Now hit F to enter the fleet creation menu and just hit the create fleet button, you do not need to disband the initial fleet. Keep in mind that you need to highlight the ship that you want to act as fleet leader or the last selected ship will become the leader. Or if you want to add newly produced ship automatically just follow Annatar11 instructions.
