I played version 1.6 for about 2 hours on a medium map, 4 player FFA. I got a minidump and crashed after bidding a lot of credits on bounty ( ~ 150k ). My crash could be unrelated to the pirates, but it's worth checking into. Impressions: 1. Too many asteroids. Apart from the beginning of the game I didn't find myself lacking resources, only credits. But since you can sell all that extra crystal/metal you don't get into money problems easily 2. PJI's are too much for t

All of these sound good, except for 10. Please don't introduce this unless the AI fully integrates it. I don't want to walk over all AI fleets because they can't fire at me. Also, 8 should give a choice on whether to nuke a planet to destroy its population or actually capture it.

Could you maybe include the extra planetary bonus mod? It would make planets more interesting and varied. Link here: [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=443&aid=178205"]WWW Link[/link]

Beautiful mod, I played all morning on a ~25 planet map as Vasari against 3 hard AIs. I just love the improved capital ships, as well as the increased number of fighter squadrons. One small problem though: I had way too many resources. Not once in this game was I under any economic pressure; by the end of the game I had about 800k credits, and that's without ever building trade ports. I tried to put this income to use in pirate raids, but even with 100k in bounty the p

My woes are over. I contacted my network admins and they were blocking all ports. I kindly asked them to unblock 6000 and now it works. :)

Change your key assignment for taking a screenshot. It did the same for me until I changed it to "]". "PrtScn" simply did not work. In Vista my screenshots are in : C:\Users\[Your user name]\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\ScreenShot

I have a D-Link 521 wireless router and UPnP is enabled. I am unable to create an account with ICO as it always returns : "Disconnected from Ironclad Online". Note: Bitcomet and uTorrent work, so does DC++. Tried: forwarding port 6000 - no effect forwarding ports 6000-6200 - no effect changing GameBroadcastPort in user.setting to something else and forwarding that - no effect enabling DMZ - no effect Any solutions or am I stuck at not b

So I did a little test. Started up a new game as TEC, and constructed a scout frigate. The map had me starting in the gravity well of planet A which was linked to planets B and C. The angle between the phase lanes was about 120 degrees (OK, this I didn't measure but just approximated). So it's like B - A - C (with the appropriate angle). I sent the scout to planet B. Then once it had arrived there I ordered it to go to planet C (while obviously it had to pass through A). Starte

I'm really not complaining, and as I said it's easy to counter. However they don't have time to do anything as I just jump back, and they jump away again. Their time window for actually doing damage is around 15-20 seconds. This only counts when we're talking siege frigates of death vs asteroids with 1000 hp. I'd like to have a way of forcing my opponent into a decisive battle when he's attacking and then mounting a counterattack. And this could mean a trap for me too. Think like this,
What type of coldhearted commander turns tail and runs from a slight disadvantage, leaving millions of his own people defenseless on the surface below awaiting the inevitable rain of nuclear fire?
Me, if my evaluation is that I am losing the battle. It's always better to live and fight another day. What annoyed me was that the AI likes to play hide-and-seek sometimes. For example they decide to attack my planet with a force (siege frigates, grr), but meet resista

I lost my first game as Vasari playing against three normal AIs to a siege frigate fleet that took down two of my worlds while my capital ships were engaging the enemy capital ship fleet. Saw no defenses in general for AI worlds but pretty large fleets (not only siege). Of course I was just experimenting with the game and was always low on metal. With a proper fleet of my own I think I could have repelled the siege frigates (~10 or so).
