I'm getting the mini dumps later in the game as well. I got my supply maxed and my AI teammate is certainly maxed... I just started getting mini dumps and crashes now a lot. I'm getting 5 minutes after a load and it's crashing.

I'm glad you appreciated my feedback. I'll install the patch and give it a run when I have time. Good job so far though.
So do you guys know how close you are to a beta version that we could start testing? I'm sure you've got some work to do still, but I bet a lot of people here are ready and willing to beta test it.
Ok, I just completed my first full game and I'll give you as specific feedback as is possible from the top of my head. Keep in mind, I'm not criticizing your mod, I think it's great and it hits the nail right on the head, and comes closer to the mark of what this game should be than the original version of the game. Bugs: - After installing the new sound files, the sound popping issue was eliminated from combat. However, I noticed the sound pops at different times now. Specific
I have had some sound popping issues with your mod that are not present in the normal game (I tested a situation with your mod and then without it). The popping comes during combat, I imagine from the sounds of the ships firing, since it only happened during combat. I run an integrated sound card by the way.
Initially The Y-Wing was the official Fighter/Bomber of the rebellion and even pirates Due to its "Survivability".... It can stand a lot of firepower thanks to its powerful shields.... The Y-wing Should match a Tie fighter.... thats my opinion
It has strong shields but lacks the maneuverability of most fighter craft. If the same concept from sins (fighters squads having more units than bomber squads), then I would think a group o
bonerfest, is it really what you want? All sides don't have to have a counter-unit. I know that having Death Star appear at your door step will make you look somebody foolish enough to fly in a trench with limited maneuverability and aim at a 2 meter wide hole, but it makes for some extremely boring sides to choose from in a conflict. I like the idea of offering different type of gameply with different sides. Empire will go in full-force in order to quell rebellion (if they can find
I wasn't complaining at all I was just giving some input, sorry.
Question... I don't know if you guys had decided whether or not the Death Star was even possible, but if it was what would the balancing unit on the Rebel Alliance be? Would you get a single Luke Skywalker unit, with a special ability called "Destroy Death Star"? That plus the SSD, which is a juggernaught by itself. Maybe if they got a special research upgrade like Bothan spies that would reveal the entire map or something. Or maybe the ability to build a limited amount of "elite" un
I wonder how you'll modify the phase jump system to make it more like star wars? Personally, I think the whole "phase gate" graphic has to go, and just have the standard Star Wars version of hyperspace: the engines glow bright for a brief moment before the ship rockets off at light speed. Also, I really hope they fix the "AI running away all the time" issue otherwise whenever a SSD jumps into a system the rebels will scatter like cockroaches! Speaking of which, is it even possible
On the planet blowing up issue, I thought about this yesterday... When you blow up a planet, couldn't it turn into the "asteroid belt" model used by the game to simulate the debris/no longer able to colonize? Maybe change it a little so they are focused more around a central point or something. Just a thought.
its now crashed 4 times, and it seemed to happen whenever I zoom in on a moving craft. 2 out of the 4 times, when I tried to zoom in on an enemy scout vehicle to see it get blown to bits by my fighters as it passed through the system, the game crashed. The first tim, I zoomed all the way in and then it crashed. The second time, I had just started to zoom and the crash happened. This never happened before the most recent patch so I'm not sure whats going on. I do have a massive fle
Since the patch happened I have been getting weird crashes, when it ran perfectly (for the most part) before on the highest settings. The last two times I have loaded a game it has crashed as soon as I perform an action and my computer has rebooted immediately. It had crashed before but rarely and not like this. All my drivers are up to date, I run dual 7600 GTs (in SLI mode) and a intel 3.6 Ghz single core CPU.
Sorry it wont let me edit this in to my last post. I feel your pain man, my first 3 games I have quit because I get to a certain point and it becomes a total stalemate for hours and hours. I had an idea though. Balancing your attack and defense forces seems impossible at times when you have more than four or five border planets you need to defend, plus trying to attack your opponent effectivly. I today discovered that the galaxy forge program is not the same as the create m
I think that the AI constantly retreating makes it very hard to make tactical choices. Which fleet to send to wich planet and which time, cause you know you had a chance, but now he ran away and woot, there comes a freaking smash all fleet from another player. This is the game im playing right now, basically all the AI vs ME. Annoying cause it's basically a stalemate. "As I said in another thread, I can't remember a single strategy game which has an invulerab
Regarding the "cat and mouse" issue AI needs to be tweaked just a bit. I remember an old game, "Star Wars: Rebellion", which had a simmilar issue - if you had but ONE ship more than your opponent, the AI would flee. That game had Interdictors though, so it was possible to catch an inferior enemy fleet. As I said in another thread, I can't remember a single strategy game which has an invulerable travel system and no means of preventing your opponent from using
Quite a little bit tired seeing post about a coward AI. Just a question: what will you do if one your fleet is outnumbered or outpowered in a fight ? Do you stay and loose all your ships in a big waste of time, resources and money ? I don't think so: you run and try to backstab the opponent. So the AI does. Don't blame the AI or game design when it is your strategy that is flawed. Try to consolidate your position, don't let the planet you ju
I just made a map with the downloadable galaxy forge. Where do I have to move the file so I can load it with the map creator so I can look at it...or can't I? I can't seem to find where map creator files (the map creator that is bundled with the game) are stored.
There have been a million different topics about this in the whopping 3 days the game has been out, and yet I haven't seen anyone from stardock comment on the "coward AI" issue, and whether or not they plan to fix it in the future. It would certainly make the game 100% better if they did, since then I could actually have a good battle. I can't believe an AI problem as ridiculously frustrating as this was not addressed in the Beta (or was it? I don't know). Human Player:<br/
Manshooter you hit it dead on, I actually accidentally made another thread about this and didn't see this one. An interdictor vessel is a must have with the way the AI plays. That or the AI needs to grow a pair of balls. This game is so great, I love it, and if that got fixed so I could have my massive armada trap their fleet and force them to fight to the death... awesome. That's all I want that I haven't gotten to see yet since buying this game; a massive confrontation
...Notice it is scope OR size not scope AND size...
Yes, and this game promises in all its screen shots that they will be battles of epic size. There is a huge strategy element yes, but you can't tell me the scale of this game wasn't intended to be off the wall, just look at your fleet when it is amasses in it's entirety! It is truly an awesome sight. There are plenty of screen shots that have large fleets going at it, so why can't I? Why, after fightin
But how can I have an epic space battle without a fleet of epic scale? You would think that if I went around blowing up their planets, at some point they would stand and fight me, logically. But they won't, and it frustrates me. Instead they let their planets die because they can just come back and recolonize it for free instantaneously. So theres no point at all in having a large fleet? What were all those screen shots I saw of fleets with 50+ ships duking it out? I guess the AI
The game needs an interdictor cruiser! I beg you! Late in the game, how can I have a massive fleet confrontation, when the computer runs away from me whenever I show up. They won't even stand and defend their own planets, they just run away. I destroy the colony and chase them and what do they do? They jump back and recolonize the planet and run away again. An interdictor ship or some cap/cruiser that could prevent phase jumps in an area would be amazing, even as a late tier resear
In the game I'm referring to, I have the maximum amount of capitols, frigates, and cruisers. I have at least 9 fleets, my main attack fleet being comprised of 7 capitol ships and 40+ cruisers and frigates. The problem is, I don't have enough to spread out in the manner your talking about. 7 of my fleets are defending my solar system from the other 2 computers who constantly jump in with fleets of 3-5 caps and about a million siege frigates that go directly to my planets and bombard while thei
I find that its impossible to end a single player game on large maps with the AI. Whenever I jump in with a large fleet to one of their planets, where ALL of their ships are assembled, they simply run and jump to a different planet while I destroy their colony. I jump after them, and they jump away again... on and on. Then eventually, they get to the end of the line and they simply turn around and jump away in the opposite direction, colonize the planet I just bombarded, and jump away again w
