I started a new game and am getting the same problem about 90 minutes in which is the same as the first time. It sucks because my fps is really high and the mod is running so smooth, but then will just minidump at the same spot every time. I really don't know what to do.
bonerfest
I just installed SoaSE for the first time in a while specifically to try this mod and I'm having minidump problems also (apparently Entrenchment is free? It downloaded in Impulse right after I updated vanilla SoaSE). I have tried the "BuffDomination.entity" fix and it hasn't changed anything. So far I've been using one save game as a template because I can reproduce the minidump immediately to see if it's been fixed. It always happens right as an Alliance Capit
Rabble! Rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble! lol
This is why they need to make the AI better than the crap it is right now so people don't have to play online to have fun. A lot of people would rather play a game of sins over the course of a week instead of playing for five hours straight on a medium map. I think that's more important than the multiplayer which is populated by too many people who think they're "elite" because they spam LRMs and take advantage of balance issues instead of playing the game like its supposed to be played.
I think this MOD makes an allready long game even more long winded. I like some of the tweeks but I don't have all the time in the world...
If you don't like it don't use it. Actually, you can't use it unless your running 1.02 anyway, and it probably won't be updated for a while. This mod puts more of an emphasis on realism and what happens is the games become longer since ships move slower and battles are longer due to the more powerful cap ships and strengt
Hey I just wanted to ask you guys a question since your already discussing the topic of quad core vs dual core, and I would really appreciate some advice. I am going to be upgrading my computer, which runs a (LGA 775) ASUS P5N32-SLI Premium mobo and currently has a 3.5 Ghz intel P4 CPU, 2 gigs of DDR2 and dual 7600GTs. I was going to be adding a sound card, 2 more gigs of ram, and upgrading to either a Q6600 2.4 Ghz (with GO stepping)quad core or a ED6850 3.0 Ghz Core 2 Duo (since the
Cheese...i'd like you to post it in your description that the mod isn't compatible with 1.03...this would have saved me hours i lost due to minimap-crashes
It is in the original post, at the bottom. Also if you read the last couple pages that's all that is discussed. So that's all on you.
The AI really hasn't been hugely improved with the unfair difficulty, though it may appear to be so. It would seem as though they are better because they have a resource buff which allows then to get more ships more quickly, but outside of this their ability is only very slightly improved. This is why the unfair difficulty will make a big difference early in games, since the AI can pump out more ships that you possibly can, but I assure you, once you've established yourself the AI becomes just
In 3 games since the patch I have killed about 10 hard AIs and I have only had one surrender, for what reasons I have no idea. The AI had 3 planets left including the homeworld...they're fleet was slaughtered while trying to retreat (big surprise) then about 5 minutes later they surrendered. However, in similar situations I have seen them not surrender, in fact one had no ships, buildings, or other planets. All the AI had left was its homeworld and my fleet of several hundred ships in orbit.
In regards to all you said...there are many things in this game that need work, this is very true. Most of what you touched on were multiplayer issues that need to be tweaked/changed, which the majority of the forum seems to argee with. You only really touched on the AI issues briefly, but in my opinion in order to satisfy the "casual gamers" the AI needs to be closer to the top of the list of fixable issues since casual gamers I must assume would include the large percentile of people who pla
I know I'm going to get SC2 since I was a huge SC fan, so I'll probably migrate to playing it for a while. I only would do so in the hopes that when I check on sins again it'll be on patch 1.1, the AI will be fixed and the game will be balanced... Well I can dream can't I?
Maybe it's because they like to help new players get into the game rather than hear the same boring whines of old players for the 100th time this week. But you are right, there are legitimate problems which need to be addressed, but they are addressed by devs working on their offices, not by devs posting replys to rants on the forums all day.
Well, it doesn't look this guy wants help, he just signed up to say how bad this game is and how he wants to trash it. Wh
I still don't understand why the devs take their time to respond to the most idiotic posts like this and never say a word in threads that have legitimate discussion occurring. They jump right on stupid complaint threads that would be better off left to die, and their right there to praise people that make threads like, "YEAH STARDOCK RULEZZZ!!", but they are invisible in many of the posts that have legitimate problems (Oh no, intelligent criticism!) which need to be addressed. It's quite anno
Its fine since the duplicates got deleted, just remember for future reference to be more patient. Lately the sins forums have had significant stalls, so sometimes after you click submit it can take a while. And your right, the real problem with the game lies in fixing the AI. That's what I've been saying on these forums since day one. Then Ironclad/Stardock claimed it would fix the AI in the 1.03 patch, and that made me happy until they actually released the patch (claiming it provid
Is this information so important you had to click the submit button a million times?
Just a small updateStill having trouble exporting ships correctly, A large contingent of the Imperial vessels are in some state of being in game, but have a lot of issues.Still doing a lot of research on the tech/upgrade tree and how that will workStill waiting for the Devs to fix a lot of the limitations (2 fighters, 5 caps, etc)so all in all progress is happening but is constrained by technical issues.
So much for the game being "freely and easily moddable" and how "use
1.03 claims to provide us with a challenging AI to fight...but I haven't seen one so far. If "vastly" improved AI means givng them a resource bonus with the "unfair" difficulty, than that's just sad. They still run from every engagement, they still are so stupid that they can't win a fleet battle, and they still seem to have no clue what to build (wow...a fleet of 30 percherons, 30 robotics cruisers, and 2 Marzas...great strategy, what are you going to do repair me to death?).
What the hell were you guys thinking? You're making the game even less competitive than it already is. Quit tuning the game to support single player love. If you're going to make a multiplayer RTS than you need think about the impact you're having on people that actually play the game to get good at it and smash other people with their tactical prowess and knowledge of your creation. Seriously.. you guys are making Forged Alliance patches look freaking amazing.FYI - Not a good thing.[/quo
I really don't see any changes at all to the AI. If anything, the AI is way more stupid now than it was in 1.02. If you ally with an AI during an unlocked teams game, its really easy to see this. They jump in and out of places for no apparent reason, and play phase jump hop-scotch just like they always have. There were even a few occasions where, after I jumped in with an attack fleet, they flew around in a circle, then bunched up and tried to jump out of the system. A fleet that had been 4
i'll try to make the mod 1.03 compatible fast as i can. But i also need to study for my exams, so that take some time.
Good luck, man. The exams come first.
Man skyline I hope you update it soon, cause I hate the weak ass defenses in vanilla sins.
Hmm.. It seems mod gets broken by 1.03 no?(Removed textures and extracted only the Mod's textures into the mod folder)
Yes, but Skyline said he would fix it shortly after the patch was released. Unfortunately, I'm turning off the mod to try out 1.03... I'm going to miss the intro music and the band of brothers tracks, but I really want to see the new AI. God, I hope the computer isn't such a coward anymore. I can never play online because I can't sit down for 7
I just remembered this. The Vasari cannot build a PJI. In the research tree, there is a Tachyon generator icon, which says "prerequisite, 1 point in Phase Jump Inhibitor." There is no PJI research button, as it has been replaced by the Tachyon Generator button.
I just got the chance to finish another 7+ hour game, this time as the Advent. The fighter button crash is completly gone, it never happened to me once. The only crashes happened to me during my previous game with the patch, which had 7 AI's and myself 5 hours into a game (I started with 10, eliminated 2). Because of the huge amount of ships allowed with the mod, the game kept crashing on me. I'm pretty sure it wasn't my graphics being too high, since I had that fleet and was movin
Here's some screen shots I got of a maxed out fleet with the new supply limits in the mod: [link="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg241/bonerfest/fleet9.jpg"]WWW Link[/link] [link="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg241/bonerfest/fleet2.jpg"]WWW Link[/link] [link="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg241/bonerfest/fleet3.jpg"]WWW Link [/link][link="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg241/bonerfest/
