I had a ~6 hour game last night against an Advent and a Vasari a.i. and the revised diplomacy worked quite well. When I first played, out-of-the-box diplomacy was pretty much useless but it does seem much better now. In the first hour I was tasked with destroying ships/structures of either side and ignored it. Then the Vasari demanded 1,000 credits. No problem, here you are, now you like me. There were more "Sweep-and-Clear" missions and the Vasari kept asking for resources which I

While I not a big fan of enemy siege frigates and I can deal with them fairly quickly, I do agree that they are a tough nut to crack. Even when I have the resources to deal with an unexpected attack they take awhile to die for the amount of damage they do. Five or ten of them isn't that big of a problem but even with a sizable fleet and defenses it takes some time.

I think this is the first game in recent memory, if at all, where I've seen the Devs interact with the fanbase on this level. The very fact that it's two days (one day for me) since the release and you're addressing these issues and listening to the community is friggin awesome for lack of a "cleaner" phrase.

Also adding my two cents - I love the pirates but I welcome the option to increase/decrease time and size of pirate raids. I know you can create maps without them, which I have done, but it would also be a nice bonus to play many of the standard maps without the pirates. Oh and just for the obligatory praise: I absolutely love this game. As a big homeworld/starcraft/IG/MOO fan this is, in my opinion, the best damn space strategy game I have ever played.
