The AI made fun of my mama as it was beating me to a pulp.
Haha... I also have some issues with the alliance system, even (mostly, in fact) in single player. I'll have a peace treaty with one of the computer players (after completing an appropriate number of missions), planet vision, ship vision, trade alliance - you name it. I'll then ask my computer ally to defend one of my planets, to which it adeptly sends a formidable fleet in compliance. However, once the

Your ships should simply utilize the wormholes in a shortest-route method - for instance, if "planets" x and y are wormholes, and you have a ship in x, clicking somewhere in y will cause your ship to travel through the wormhole.

I kind've enjoy the new market system, though I still don't quite understand some of the finer points of it (being able to put up x-hundred units of metal/crystal at y.z% the normal price - huh?). Yes, it was very nice being able to capture four resource asteroids in space junk, and I also wish the AI would make greater use of that mechanic. I've seen it capture "free" asteroids before (in 1.02), but not to any large degree.

I'm with you, A_G - I miss the low/med/high/random resource option. I tended to keep it on high, just to move things along (without actually speeding up the game). It also had me using the black market dynamic more than I normally would. Anyway, I also hope they bring it back in 1.04. Yes, we can jack up the economic income rate, but it still doesn't bring in the same amount of resources. If nothing else, I think planets looked a little cooler with 3-4 asteroids floating around inst

Thought I'd throw these into the fray, and see if anyone else is having similar issues. I'm pretty loyal to the Vasari at this point. The cap ship that can drop siege platforms (for dealing extra damage to planets) tends to drop them out of range for them to fire at the planet. This is when I leave the ships to their own devices - if I order the ship nearer the planet than it would go by itself, when it then drops the seige platforms, they operate just as the

Put me on the "pirates make beating the AI easy" petition, too. The randomized attacks idea is good - it would force you to deal with them sometimes. I like better the idea of turning them into another player entity, though. Allow them to take over planets and such, but give them reduced prices to ships, structures, technology (through the previously mentioned "plundering" mechanic, perhaps), and instead of an "expand" objective, make it more an "extreme fortify". Maybe give

I was having the same problem, and just as I found this thread my anti-virus popped up (McAfee) asking to grant access to Sins. It was about five minutes after I had closed the game, though... Wierd. Anyway, I was able to log on without any troubles after that.

Just got back from GameStop where I bought the serial numberless SoaSE. Told them the situation, and the guy went looking through the empty CD jackets that they keep the game disks in until they're sold. He found the one that previously had my CD in it, and low and behold, it had the serial number sticker stuck to the front of it. I just put it in to download the update, and it worked fine.
Good luck in getting Gamestop to believe that you're not a criminal trying to get two serial numbers. Man, I have heard of people not getting their serials/CD Keys, but I am glad it's never happened to me. It's really no fun to deal with. -HM
Bummer - I hadn't thought about that. *fingers crossed*
I purchased my copy from Gamestop; who curiously now has the policy of breaking the seal and removing the cd before placing the game on their shelves. They replaced the cd before the sale, but I seriously mistrust any workers who would be allowed to do this.
Same here...
It could have simply not got "stuck on" properly. My sticker was only down on one side. So I can see how it's possible for it to not get stuck at all.
Maybe that's what happened. Yay for sh

Are you on the support team? :) Yes, I'm being a jerk. However, I would rather have gotten a wrong answer than one that seemed not to take into account anything I said. I wouldn't be upset if I had seen at least a small amount of effort put into the response I was given.

Wow... The support team has already lost my faith... What I sent: Hello- I recently purchased a (retail) copy of "Sins of a Solar Empire". When I tried to update the game after installation, I was asked for a serial number. The page asking for the serial number said that it could be found on a sticker inside the DVD case, however, I am unable to locate such a sticker or (consequently) the serial number. Is there any chance of being provided with one? Thanks!<

I tried to update the game right after I intalled it, and was directed to a page which asked for my serial number, which said it could be found on a sticker inside the DVD case. I see no such sticker... Help?
