I have it; played about a dozen games so far, but only able to get 2 going on online MP. Lan works flawlessly for us (and we only needed one copy of the game). Like Sins, there is no campain. Unlike Sins, there are no game replays [e digicons]8C[/e] . I hear online is geting better, perhaps so, since it only took me 30 mins to get into my last game, but 30 mins IS a pretty long time when a game can last 30 mins. The core game itself gets a 9 from me;

So, you've all read it before: People on these forums (and others) boasting their pirates, and giving all the reasons they do so. But once again, the've screwed all the honest people, and may have cost DG lots of sales due to some bad reviews (CAUSED by the pirates). This sounds SO much like what happened to Titan quest; it was released early; pirates swarm it; getting on forums and complaining it did not work (Warz versions were set to dump to windows when you go
We just played a Lan game last weekend; mines were a bane. We even made a fleet of 10 scouts and 10 flaks, sent them in, lots still blew up, and what little is left was wiped out by fighters/bombers before they could even start clearing out the rest of the mines. We finally gave up, and just make like a fleet of 20 suicide scouts and send them in first to blow up themselves and the mines . . .
Thanks FB, I'll take a look, and send the link to my friends before they try it on my Lan. And, oh, btw, my friends were very interested in DoW2 and Demigod. Due to Dow2's harsh DRM (I never did get it to work on my lan either, due to the fact GFWL was so sure I was a pirate), and the ease of installing DG and how easy it was to get Lan to work, I'm almost positive several of my friends will be getting DG for sure. I think it was a coin toss which
The DG rule book is really skimpy; but as I finished it (in 10 minutes), I thought "oh well, I'm sure they explain it fully in the tutorial". Could'nt find any tutorial, so I thought "The tutorial must be included in the campain, teaching you as you go". I could'nt find any campain though either [e digicons]8C[/e] . Yikes. So I start to play a game, and see the mydrid of upgrades and items, I figure "I'll just pause the game, and slowly Tool-Tip everything, and that
Well, my BD is in 2 hours; so I thought I'd never see it as a BD gift, but, WOW, I did get it today. What a surprise. Too bad it messed up the poor SD guys week. At least I know now why I can't get MP to work. And did I read right, DG has NO copy protection??? I had to register mine; you meant it had no "CD Copy" protection? I have another off topicish question. When I installed it my main computer, I had to register it, but when I installed it o
I saw on the DG forums that some people used their full name to register with Impulse, and they are worried (rightly so) about it showing in online play. I like my P.P. name for most games/forums, but I really had a lot of Usernames going through my head when I got the game today as a BD gift, but it looks like I'm stuck with P.P. unless I change it for EVERYTHING :(
Spore was the most disapointing game to me since MOO3, and Mr. Wright is "supposedly" suppose to be the king of strategy games (Spore was a coloring book). Perhaps he is leaving to work on that new "Barbie Pet Rescue II" PC game. . .
Ya, happened to me too. If a cannon shoots even 1 second before you capture a planet, the "bullet" still keeps heading toward that planet. It often gets there (cause they travel so slowly) after you have captured it; even after you'll left the well.
It's a "FreeMP3WMAOOGConverter". Hightly recomeded on the net, and works perfet. All the songs I've convert play fine, and play during play, it's just that some songs play dozens of times, while others I never hear play during an entire game.
There are now "Linked Monopolies", which are more or less legal and skirt the monopoly laws. Use to be companies would have actual price wars to get customers. When I was young, there use to actually be "gas wars"; gas stations would lower their price everyday to complete with the station on the other corner. Companies now adays often "link" their prices, that is, they still compete agains each other for a peice of the pie, BUT, they "link" their skyrocketing costs togethe
As the government here in the US gets more and more controled by big business (rather than the people) this was bound to happen. Banks and home morgages; credit cards and 30% interest with hidden fees and surprise penalties; oil and power companies raising prices to extortionistic levels (while they make historical profits); heck even cell phones companies have pretty much followed the credit card companies lead (there are so many sneaky overage charges and hidden fees in my cell p
Annatar, does that mean that 1 Hosiko is as good at repairing the starbase as the dozen were? All this time I had no idea, I though 12 Hoshios meant 12 times the healing. If true, that explains why the little guys don't all mass on one ship that is being focus fired on.
OMG, I had NO idae after all this time you could build more than one SB in a star's GW. And I was in the beta (blush).
I still can't figure it out. I have up to 14 different songs in each catagorey, but sometimes the same song will play over and over. I just set it up so that one song (that never seems to play) is in there 3 different #s, but it played only once the entire 4+ hour game (and that was for about 10 seconds).
That's good to know. I have a friend that loves the Sims, but he would have never purchased it with harsh DRM stuff on it.
I have a friend who had a lady-freind out from Holland. She was absoulutly shocked (can't really think how to describe how puzzled she was) that we have so much violence in TV and movies, extremely graphic stuff, yet most anything with sex/nudity is so "awful"; it's just the opposite in her country from what she described.
Aotrs Commander , this is exactly how I feel about Dow2, but what shocked me even more: I just went into DoW2 to "paint" my army units (just change their color), and it STILLj forced me to log into steam. I felt like hugging Impulse after that; like a wife that had left their f
Well, it IS much more helpful for the newbs. I know I and my friend would have played on a 3v5 long before we tried a 1v1 or 2v2. As for "teamwork", when you don't even know where the buttons are to share credits/resourses (yet), or how to use the chat (I remember I kept talking to everyone at first, not just my team), then it's almost impossible to do much teamwork.
Well, reguardless of the "ratio" you use, I SO vote for some sort of "auto build" setting for Fighters/Bombers. Ever since they made strike craft so usefull and needed, and THEN doubled the number of SC in carriers, the "lack of micro" in Sins is anything but. I can't count the clicks; fighter; figher; bomber;fighter; fighter; bomber x 1000. It is SO frigging redundent. The main reason I hate making carriers now is that I have to set the fighter/b
After WoW, and just before Sins, I had a very spirtual friend say "HOW can you play World of Warcraft; all it is is killing, killing, killing. I DARE you to enjoy that game without killing stuff!". That really made me stop and think. Then, as I started enjoying Sins, every time I bombed a planet, I would think to myself "omg, I'm bombing an entire palnet, and enjoying it. Anyway, after about a couple months of Sins being out, there was a spider in my bathtud.&n
Oh, Teal, yes, Passion ot Christ; that IS a must see movie, but a "never see again" movie for me. I think that's what Watchmen is. I told my friends "You have to see that movie, but NO way am I going to see it with you again". . . . .
Thanks, I found it, but by reading (not playing the files), hundreds of files, thank goodness they are labled somewhat logically.
It always makes me laugh hard; people that talk about/review a movie that they've never seen. Anyway, I love comic hero's, but, not being 100% nerd, never even heard of the Watchmen. Went to see the movie 2 days ago. omg, NOTHING like I thought it would be. If I had kids, they would NEVER get to see this movie till about 17. I loved "Rorshack" (or, however in the heck you'd spell his name), which is why I sort'a disliked the ending (no spoilers). The
I usually play as Tec, and you can increase the damage to 50% when they exit your well. They have zero Anti-matter regardless, and if even a small back-up fleet can catch them (which is easy if you've got a PJI) they are toast. The cap ships have NONE of their abilities; carriers can't make more strike craft; repair ships need AM to repair (and they are half dead already). I usually try to put yet another starbase in second and third line planets (un-upgraded); tha
