I'm sure someone has asked for this , but I have a mini mod request. Can we have one that increases the capitol ship max as well as fleet cap. The current cap does not work for maps with 6-8 stars and bigger. Thanks!! (also if enabling 2 mods at once is not possible, lets also have the PJI mod included in this one :))

[link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?aid=175931"]Link about new phase inhibitor[/link] Just thought for those who haven't seen the above thread you would want to check it out. These are ideas being thrown around in-house, hopefully the devs do add this special advanced phase jump inhibitor that has to be destroyed before you can jump out. And hopefully it is strong enough to withstand a good beating for about 2-3 minutes :)
On the subject of fleets going straight past a defensive fleet and striking deeper within the empire... I'd just like to point out that this is one of the biggest (theoretical) problems with a defensive doctrine in space combat. Space is HUGE and ships move FAST. It isn't feasible in real life to build a meaningful defensive network that could cover a planet, not to mention a whole system, so why should it work out in a simulation? I think the best decision

There has been a lot of good discussion in this thread. I really do believe there is an issue here that needs to be looked at seriously by Ironclad. I remember in an interview that the developers from Ironclad said they put in the phase lanes so that you couldn't bypass defenses and just jump straight to the inner planets and destroy them. Unfortunately, this is the effect we are getting from fleets being able to bypass an entire fleet/defenses and continue forward. Sure, they will take

Split the fleet or make a new one. It is the only way, trust me I've been arguing about this for a while in another thread. [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?aid=175732#1450396"]WWW Link[/link]

My friend had a fully ugpraded military tree as well as a full upgraded set of capitol ships. His highest armored ship was 12, I was advent and my highest armored ship after all upgrades was 14. These were both the main battleships as no other capitol ships had higher. Maybe overall the advent do have less armor, but in the case of the best battleship capitol ship, the advent had more amrmor. Add on top of that a higher shield, its quite useful. Although the advent does have less hull hp.
Does anyone know how the trade length is calculated? For instance, if I put 5 trade ports in one planet, do they all have the same trade length? How does it determine the trade length for each individual trade port and where it will trade to? I'd like to know how it determines this so I can exploit the trade ports to their maximum potential. I am confused about this too. Once I build th
Which brings me to another question, if you are playing a big 4v4 won't the games cap not be enough. 2000 really isn't that much. Actually, try playing it before you say its "Not enough" -- that is a lot of ships, and you'll find it difficult to afford building that many, much less more.
Well in my 2v2 I played last night I reached the 2000 fleet cap and wouldn't have minded ha

Of course, AI/players need to click the "buy" buttons to actually buy from it It should be in your gameconstants file, I'm at work so I don't remember which folder it's in. Someone else can probably find it for you <img id="ImageResize_Image_5"
Don't under estimate the black market. With a good system of refineries, you should have a large excess of metal and crystals. Watch the black market and sell a bunch when prices jump from some one buying, you should make a neat profit.
How do you indirectly sell on the black market in a game? I was playing with my friend vs 2 computers and I would put up 500 metal and 500 crystal for sale at 98% of market value and I never saw a
If it is so effective then why should it be changed? Sounds to me that the AI is doing a good job of keeping you off balance with a smaller fleet than yours. The way to force an engadgement is to ATTACK. Attack something that they will be forced to defend. And if they still don't stand and fight then they will lose that asset and you are one step closer to winning. Remember: a true master of defense is never at a place that is being attacked <img id="Ima
its called building 2 fleets
That was about as useful a comment as shittin in a volcano. I mentioned that I did have two fleets, as did others. They ran from them both. However, a bait fleet does work to draw them in so you can surround them. This shouldn't be the only way to get kills on the computer IMO. Even when you bait them in, they run as soon as your big fleet comes in to kill em.
Basically these people are angry that they can't leave a planet with zero tactical structures and expect it to be there when they get back. I really can't figure out if I'm just inherently awesome at this game or what but I am seriously not having the same gameplay issues that this forum seems to.
Thats completely not correct. First of all I've played many rts games, I am by no means a noobie with the game genre. Most important
Clever AI. Nothing wrong with this strategy and if you plan one step ahead of them with some reserve backups, you'll pin them in between jumps.
But see earlier on when you have one big fleet and another fleet with say, 1-2 capitol ships and about 20-30 ships for support, you get out gunned. If they send their main fleet over to your backup fleet the instant your main fleet leaves, by the time the main fleet gets back, the backup f
I've noticed this same thing, the moment you start an attack the AI knows about it and starts hitting your worlds hard, then retreating if you come back. Saw a very interesting sight with a scout frigate, 2 enemy fleets in orbit of my star (my defense fleet was parked at the planet they were going to) right on top of one another, firing at each other, and powering up for a phase jump to my world. That's just plain dumb...
Yeah, bt

Nice to know I'm not going insane. I was so annoyed by the ai and its phase jumping back and forth and instantly knowing I almost just quit the game. Its very detracting and I honestly think something needs to be done. They reall never stick around for a fight ever, unless they are heavily favored in which case, the second you bring in a fleet, they GTFO and run like a bunch of lilly livered chickens. Hit and go is part of an rts, but, not like this normally. The phase jumps are too eas

I was wondering if anyone who has played against the normal ai/hard ai has noticed this. I was playing Singleplayer last night, (mind you I'd rather play MP, but we get a we'rd game crash dump error, when our systems are 100% stable and up to date), and after colonizing an outer desert planet that was next to a wormhole and also a choke point, I started to build it up. Well, of course, I get no real attacks from the ai so I continue on my way upgrading tech and planets. After I had a ve

I completely agree with you on the delay for at least bigger ships on phase jumping. Thanks for the comments. I was playing as Advent BTW, (go figure I played as eldar in Warhammer 40k, Aeon in Supreme Commander, lol ). When you say you play multiplayer, do you use ironclad's MP or do you do a lan or direct ip connect with friends? I ask that specifically because my friends keep getting a dump error that makes the game exit. I guess thats a topic for another day, just I haven't seen anyone else

Ok, I just hosted a new game with the same friend as well as a new friend. At 30minutes into the game, both of them crashed, while me, the host, did not. I then had someone else re-host, but they both crashed and i didn't. So then I re-hosted and the new friend stayed in while i replaced my other friend with a computer, we didn't crash at the same instant we were crashing before. Instead, I crashed for the first time ever. The crashes all consist of the game alt tabbing with a .dmp fil
There have been a number of reports of people with issues using Nvidia-based cards. Nvidia is investigating them as they're driver-related.
Yeah I've been reading those threads. However, the odd thing is how this is so reproduceable while all the reports of crashes on nvidia based cards involves either hanging where the driver kernel resets, or just straight random crashing. None of them have mentioned an error that occurs a

Thanks, I'll tell him to send that in. Anyone else experience this type of issue yet? Hopefully lowering the graphics will take care of it, but if not, at least its a reproduceable crash, thats the hardest part about troubleshooting usually.
