Good luck figuring it out. I, too, am having the same issue with no fixes in sight that I'm aware of. Editing the config files: windowed, stopping movies from playing, etc doesn't do a thing. No real answers to the cause either. Really frustrating when you buy something and can't play it. At all. Doesn't even load past the black screen before the runtime error comes up. High end computer system must be failing me cause I sure can't figure it out (:(

Setting it to windowed only gave me the C++ runtime error a ton faster (:( This sucks, havn't been able to play it since yesterday!

Same issue for me, the black screen thing at any rate with a runtime error. I tried the suggestion of turning off the movies, no go. Same deal, same error. You'll find the settings under: C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\

I'm still having the issue. Game begins to load, CPU usage spikes and memory increases a good bit for a few moments then the ingame cursor appears of which I can move around until I mouse over the invisible error box. Tab out and yup, C++ Runtime Error every dang time.

I am getting the same thing after full installation of the game. Loads up with a black screen. I am able to tab out and noticed, briefly, it was the C++ runtime error. So I figured a reboot might fix it? Nope, but this time I am able to get minidumps saved into the Local Settings/Temp directory, not that it's readable in a txt format hehe. Reinstallation isn't helping either on my end-- Win XP Pro SP2 (32bit) 2GB DDR2 800 8800 GTS 320 SB Live!
