Reduce the AI's omniscience with regards to your fleet actions. The AI will bug out the second you send a fleet to reinforce an area they are attacking even if they didn't have visual to know your ships were jumping in. Combine this with some sort of inhibitor buff so that you can do some damage to an escaping fleet and it will greatly improve the single player game. Another thing would be improved targeting priority. The AI will sometimes cease attacking to run across the g

[quote] I'd like to suggest that in addition to there current effects that PJI's also slow the movement speed of of enemy fleets in the phase lane. E.g., if you jump within the range of an enemy PJI your phase lane movement is slowed by X percent. This would effectively give advantage to the defenders strategic movement of defensive fleets in his/her own territory. My concern here is that if you have a system with a defensive fleet and someone bypasses it giving

[quote] Stop defending and just attack. The key is to get over the idea of defending your border planets effectively. You just aren't going to be able to. Look at the Ai's border planets, they get chewed to bits all the time. If you attack, then the other guy attacks, think about who can kill each others planets quicker? Eventually your fleets -will- have to meet, but it's the guy with the biggest and best infrastructure that eventually wins after all the devastatio

The problem with phase lane lock down or even an extensive delay is it makes it very difficult to kill the super weapons. Personally I'd rather see the super weapons nerfed or even removed if it allows for the elimination of the need for phase lane hop scotch to kill an enemy fleet that runs the literal instant the tides turn against it.

[quote] I think the real problem might not actually be the defences, but the diplomacy. I'm almost sure the AI is (after an hour or so) totally allied against me. This means you have no reserve fleets to plug gaps, since they are all fighting losing battles waiting for anything you can spare to help clean out a system. If the AI had to fight itself a bit, then it couldn't commit every single ship in its armada to attack you, and count on 6 allies to do the same thing

[quote] Lets just break the whole game while we're at it with dumb fan-submitted suggestions. Megaships, Dreadnoughts, even just a nice little I WIN button you can punch when you're tired of playing. I should really get into multiplayer and wipe the floor with all you little whiners because the AI just isn't challenging me and since you all seem to have trouble even playing a 1v1 game I assume I'd just give you a humiliating loss that would compel you to uninstall th

Having just given up on a game because of this very issue I'll chime in. In a 6 player FFA I was dominating every aspect of the game. Then about 4 hours in the tide changed. I was constantly being attacked on all fronts by large fleets of 4-5 cap ships and 25 or so siege craft. Using my full fleet cap I was able to fend them off using choke points but it was impossible to go on the offensive at all. If I left the defenses to defend, my planets would be bombed to rubble bef

That's pretty much what I'm seeing. A race retains it's cultural influence on specific planets for a long time after you have bombarded it clean. In addition a race that has been totally defeated still has a cultural impact on the planets around it. Perhaps it's intended but I would think that at a planetary leveling razing it to the ground would mean you can occupy it immediately. At the interplanetary level you would think killing off an entire race should immediately end their influence o

All jokes aside how can you counter enemy culture creep before you have researched the tech trees for your own propaganda spread? I tried another game where I had a crushing early military campaign against my neighbor and was then unable to colonize their empty planets after the game informed me they were defeated. Also again my outlying planets loyalty started to fall due to the influence of the now dead race. Perhaps I'm missing something. Is it possible to invade a planet withou

I have a question to the community about capturing razed planets. In my last game I completely eliminated an enemy faction but was unable to capture their planets due to the cultural influence. I could see on the lines between the stars that the culture was still there after the race itself was dead. So my question is three fold. Why can I not immediately colonize a world that I have razed to the ground. If there is no population left who is going to stop me? Second after
