I've got a groovy (for me) undocumented change to report! Although I was running all of my visual settings on "Highest" before the patch, now that I've patched, all of my textures are higher resolution than they were before! It took me quite some time to decide I wasn't just going nuts and imagining it, but there are words and numbers on things that were never there before, and even some slightly bad things, like texture misalignment at seams on asteroids. I'm not comp
Flaks targeting incoming missiles is a stupid and imbalancing idea. TEC Missile weapons are used not only by LRMs, but also by Marzas, Dunovs, and Bombers, and in case of Vasari Phase Missiles, they are used not only by Assailants but also by Sentinels(flaks), Fighters, Bombers, Defense Platforms, Devastators, Desolators, Marauders, and Skirantra Carriers. Are these units ALL imbalanced? Then making flak shoot missiles would be nerfing ALL these units.
But no Ad
What I find weird is that the screenshot was sized UP to get it that big. That's not it's natural resolution. But, enough about the huge screenshots... ^_^
Scouts make pretty good cannon fodder/anti LRM units, en-masse, but I'm not going to hijack this thread with that conversation. I played around with cloaking yesterday, and it didn't seem all that useful to me, either. I never play Vasari, though, so I'll let someone else give you a valid opinion.
...and the overtly sociopathic and genocidal Space Marines, who display a state of mind one so rarely has the opportunity to express in day to day life.
You've obviously never met a US Republican. I'll stop that on that subject before I even start. ^_^ I love 40K, been playing it for over a decade, and am a huge Eldar fan (they are not decadent!). While I am completely against the devs wasting time on a standard campaign for Sins, I'll concede that you have
You know it's a good game when you get personal welcomes from a dev. ^_^
If you exit the game with cinematic mode on, when you start the program again, it seems to forget the settings and think that's the way it should look all the time. To fix it, go to your user interface options, and turn everything back on. It's a bit annoying, isn't it? Remember to turn cinematic mode off before you quit, and I don't think it'll happen.
Oh relax will ya, besides i dunno what else to call Russia's infantry spam in Stalingrad or the Immense bombing campaign of Germany with B-17 spamYes I said spam again and I used real life situations again, BITE ME lol
Thanks, but you probably taste bad.
Funny, I think wasting time on multiplayer upgrades is unimportant. I don't play multiplayer. I don't see why others have to complain that a fundamental aspect of rts gaming is a 'waste of time' just because its not their preference. I'm actually pretty sour on Stardock for this. The games neat, but after a few skirmishes it'll go on the shelf. I may or may nor buy the expansion since when it comes out, I'll have nothing to get me back to this game. I do love the

There isn't a Sins demo yet. They're working on a nice patch, (much more important, at least for those of us that already own the game) and then they will be releasing a demo. If it helps, Sins of a Solar Empire has a MUCH cooler name. ^_^
In case it hasn't been made clear enough already, all those planets are NOT occupied by your enemies. The did NOT make "all those ships". The ships you're seeing are just local garrisons. If your real enemies want to colonized that planet, they have to fight the locals just the same as you do. It's 100% fair and even. When you're first starting out, try colonizing asteroids before planets. The local defenses will be a lot less. (And don't forget to build that
So CAN pirates make actual interstellar jumps? Imagine a three-star system, including star A, B, and C. There is only a pirate base circling star A. If a pirate raid is called against an empire that only has colonized planets around stars B and C, where there are no pirate bases, will the pirates jump between stars to harass them? Is a pirate fleet even spawned in that instance?
Nope. Single monitor, here.
Move orders and attack orders are entirely separate. You'll notice that even if you allow your fleets to attack whatever they want, when the gravity well is clear of enemies, they'll return to the exact point they jumped in to the system, because this was the target of the last move order given. Moving to attack something isn't actually a move order, and so they'll always return to the last point they were ordered to move to. Is this convenient? Maybe not, but it's goo
I've had this same problem, intermittently and seemingly at random. It starts and stops during a game, and I've never noticed anything that definitely caused it. It seems to happen often when I'm looking at a ship that phase jumps, and I break the camera lock on it, but that might just be my imagination. It's pretty annoying when it happens, though, isn't it?
Nice work SeiraBlack!! Also check out my latest dev blog for a basic counter diagram (if it's alright with you seirablack, i also included your diagram in this post)
And where would one find these fine dev blogs? My searching skillz seem to be lacking.
I've been looking at this for awhile now, and it's fantastic! I'm one of those people that didn't want any changes made to the game rules, so I made a mod with only the Mesh and Particle folders, and it's working wonderfully! I seem to be getting a lot of very nice new effects for every weapon and ship, while the game is presumably still vanilla. VERY nice job! I especially like the new muzzle effect on Advent beam cannons... and everything else. ^_^ Dropping
I think the Revelation BC level 6 ability has to be one of the coolest in the game. It takes down enemy planets very quickly and with great style (screaming skulls that give my wife the heebie-jeebies). The Mezmerize ability on the ship can also be extremely useful, although it can also cause trouble if not carefully monitored.
Heck, that gives ME the heebie jeebies! The Revelation is my favorite ship for a number of reasons, including that ability to destroy a planet wi
No. You keep your research, but lose the ability to use it until you have the appropriate number of labs.
There's more than just one map with no pirates, and YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN! Really, more people should use the in-game random map editor. It rocks, is easy to use, and it takes about two seconds to make a map any size you'd like with or without pirates, depending on your taste.
I'll admit, I'm an RTS fan, specifically a Homeworld fan and am bit of a newbie (maybe 10 hours under my belt)But why Crystal and Metal? They don't seem to add anything other than you have to constantly do a buy/sell minigame to get what you need.
If you have to "constantly do a buy/sell minigame to get" the materials you need, you're doing something very, very, very wrong.
Personally I'd prefer money only, but if it needs more, than say Crystal Only.
<
Looking forward to 1.03. I know the list is only partial - but I hope that there will be adjustable cost settings as well as just speed. I would love to see a way to increase the initial cost of getting a new colony going that way there would be more of a strategy decision required about what planets to colonize and when.
Just turn your resources down, which you can already do. Having less money gives the exact same effect of things costing more. I'm in the midd
