I just wanted to chime in and point out a stupendously executed and often overlooked part of the MOD. Music. I am a huge fan of dramatic/epic movie/game scores and the implementation and choice of music here is simply spot on. I would have done it exactly as they have. I recognized and own most of the music featured while at the same time being introduced to some new stuff that I will now have to go out and get. In summary: Perfection. [e digicons]:borg:[/e] ps.
# Where did you get the music - it's great. I recognize most of it from the Star Trek soundtracks, but there was one or two songs in there (during scaled in battles) that was reminiscent of the theme from The Rock or Pirates of the Carribean. It was a perfect fit. I also noted you had some of the soundtrack from Star Trek II in there - give the rest of the ST2 soundtrack a listen, it would be great for replacing what little music you still have from the Vanilla sins. Maybe what has, de facto, occured here is that the MOD team was not fired by Stress, but that Stress was fired by the MOD team! I am kidding of course, but if all of Major Stress' original work was not included, just that of the team, then the team could rebuild the missing parts and make their own mod, sans Stress. What is stopping that?

I know that the music system is based on the entries in the soundMusic.sounddata file and I assertained that the trigger for most of the music is based on "mood" by the numbers under each entry. But what I don't understand is how the game controls which race gets which music. I have never heard Advent music when playing as the TEC, for example, and vice versa. But some music is common to all races, such as the more generic battle music. What I don't get is that the seemingly obvious system of

I have a further question, if it does not hijack this thread (it may benefit the OP). How does one add custom music and define which race will use which music file and when? To elaborate, I already found the list of MusicThemes entrys in the player entity files, but when I alter them, the music will still sometimes play files outside of my specific selections. So, how does the music system in Sins work exactly, because I know it is possible as the Advent never have the same music as the TEC,

@ rayredlab: I am currently building in the music for the MOD. I am familar with some of your suggestions and agree with some. I will need to check out the other suggestions. One thing is for sure, there is no shortage of good music to choose from. Even original, newly composed music for the MOD specifically would a

Well, I will take a shot at your problem, but I don't know for sure really. Make SURE you have the latest patch installed (v1.05). Make SURE the mod files were extracted to your MODS directory (the readme should tell you the exact location). Make SURE the mod is properly enabled in the main menu. Also, the probes the Excelsior fires have empty "buttons" where controls would normally be. DON'T Mouse over them! That alone will crash the game. See the earlier pages of the thread. Combat wo

@Maximus123456 It is on an earlier page of this thread, make sure that you look through all of the posts as earlier versions may still be listed. The newest file is the last one posted I think. It is worth the download!

Unfortunately, I have no scripting skills, but might I suggest to the eventual code monkey that he/she use images/clips from "The Siege of AR-558" from DS9, for the animation above the planet as requested. That had Federation troops battling the Jem'ha'Dar(sp?). I also want to express my expansive gratitude to all who are working/will work on this MOD. For me, and I suspect many others, this is a dream come true; one that has always been teased by every disappointing Star Trek game to d

That is an amazing model! "Yesterday's Enterprise" came flying back to me. I have no skillz as far as coding and models(textures too), but I can produce trailers for the mod. I will try to produce something as a preview (using Ez's stuff) soon to GameTrailers.com, link will be posted here. Hopefully more interest can be generated that may result in some new team members.

I wanted to bump this to the top, where it belongs! I wanted to talk about music. Already, the preliminary mod released by EzraeilBeatus has shown that music will be rather flexible. I have some suggestions for Trekkie music that is not necessarily from Star Trek itself. The music listed below would really add to the feel of this mod and add lots of variety to the music. Soundtrack from Star Trek: Bridge Commander: Great score that captures the feel of Trek perfectly, IMO.

I must agree with the above. The ships should, IMO, have varying degrees of "death", some might get entirely vaporized with fragments floating around, some will have multiple sections blown/cut apart, and then some will look like what you have posted. Should be random as to which debris is created in the explosion. I know the game already supports this, most of the entity files have an entry for multiple debris models, as I am sure you know. And of course it is more work, but it would be really

So, I could not resist taking some Beaut shots of the Excelsior/Lakota. Here are some 1680x1050, ALL MAX SETTINGS (Deep Space Background), 4x Anti-Aliased screen shots with the HUD still in place (how do you remove the HUD entirely for screen captures?). Note that JPEG compression ruins the quality with a fine grain, but the file sizes stay reasonable that way. If anyone wants the original BMP files (6 Megabytes each), just PM me on this forum. Enough text, on to the show! [IMG]http://i

I have downloaded the latest files you have offered and incorporated the sound/music as well. I must say, for a solitary and preliminary effort, this is stunning! Keep it up. The cube's scale compared to the other ships instantly brought back First Contact in my mind. Very inspiring to see this quality so early in the mod process. Not to mentino that when the cube moves, the other ships AUTOMATICALLY get out of the way with no clipping of the models, which allows for some really cinematic strafi
